I've been working on my gauntlets recently and was debating if I should go with the pin closure or velcro closure, so wanted to know if any of you guys have done the velcro route and how it is set up??? any thoughts on this would be great!![]()

the pins are accurate, but not very forgiving if you got big thick arms like i do. but i'll suffer for my art if i have to, i already do that in my boba costume, lol. velcro is more forgiving of thick popeye arms, but just as uncomfortable after a few hours. just sayin...
I used very strong magnets for my Boba gauntlets and plan to do the same with the Jango build. They give a nice loud snap when they shut so you know they are on correctly.
In my mind there's no question. Without a doubt, go with the pin closure. Velcro and magnets will destroy your gauntlets over time. The velcro requires wiggling and the force of the magnets will cause slamming of the two sides together. Both will result in cracks over time.
yeh after one day Ponte had issues with magnets breaking on him from slamming into eachother at CV...I like my hinge and clips would rather have the pins would be alot easier i think the clips arent easy to get to
Pins, definitely. They're a little trouble but once they are on, they're on, albeit a bit snug.
I have metal wickedbeard gaunts. How can I use pins in lieu of Velcro? Pics anyone?
Here's a hinge and pin closure tutorial with pics: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f28/c...intense-25280/
thank you for posting that again, cruzer. it makes it easier to find it now that i'll be working on those new gaunts i recently got from you.
Where would you pickup hinges at to add them to the other side? and pins to go into the hinges? I think I want to do hinges and pins just because the clips MOW provided work but getting my fingers into the area to get them to clip is pretty tough...
Thanks for the input guys! I think i'll go pin closure route.![]()
