ebay rembrandt fett visors+rubies fett helms?

Just wondering if anyone has experience with the rubies helms and the rembrandt enterprise visors ( http://tinyurl.com/36d38q )
making them fit to each other?
Im not sure if I should trim the black plastic that was behind the standard visor so the viewing distance is actually the width and length of the "T" and then place the visor behind or inside the mask or if I should widen the viewing distance that was already on it and cut the visor to fit the shape of the fett visor?

either way the curvature of the visor and the curvature of the helm aren't exactly a 100% match so another question would be would a heat gun do the trick to get the visor to meet the demands of the helmet?

bah double post on waiting for page to update, kept getting the server not found error*

Those look very nice.

I'm pretty sure acrylic is heat-formable. So if you took a heat gun to it(careful, it will melt the stuff too if youre not careful), it should make it malleable.

Maybe if another more experienced person chimed in...

They fit in Rubies helmets very well...or at least when I've had them in the past they have. It's other helmets they don't fit at all in. Yeah....cut that black plastic out from the original helmet. And yes....I used a glue gun for this visor in my old helmet. Worked just fine.

Edit: Hmmm....mine was never tinted though but they LOOK pretty much the same as the standard dark ones I've had.

I put one in my Rubies and it fit just fine. You have to get the right one as they make two or three different sizes for different helmets. Pretty sure the smallest fits the Rubies.

Cheers

cool thanks for the info, after messing with it for a while the visor's curve isn't quite bent enough as to where the far left/right edges of the top ends sort of push out the jaws of the helmet a bit, so im thinking if i shave off a 1/2 inch on each side, then perhaps it wont be such a tight fit that way (still gives me enough room to cover the visor hole) and if I take my helmet and look at it from the inside right around the blue outline of the face visor on the inside there is a nice ledge to place the visor right in(right where the forehead would be) but placing it along that ridge makes the very bottom of the visor stick out maybe a quarter inch, again easily removable with rotary tool, however around the top left/right temple there will be a slight gap where visor and helmet do not meet, anyone else have this problem? didn't know what I might use to fill the gap, other then a large glop of epoxy glue. Any ideas?
