Dwedd\'s fiberglass armor - Pics fixed

I've gotten several requests for pics of the fiberglass Jango armor I run. I never really take pics of stuff before sending it off to new homes, until now. I recently finished a set of armor for a member here, and decided to snap a few digi-pics of it. Some of these pieces are being seen publicly, for the first time, since I JUST finished reworking them to be more accurate.

Here's an overall shot of it.


Here's just the upper armor.

Here's the lower. The cod has been recently reworked for better shape, and the thighs, for better compound curve.

Here's a closer shot of the cod.

A close-up of the shoulder, to show the compound curve and trim line.


All the pieces are raw pulls, straight from the molds. Trimming, and assembly will be done by the new owner.

I'd like to clarify something here. "thick" is diferent to different people. I run all my stuff in one layer of two oz. matt, behind a 25 - 30 mil layer of gelcoat. what that means is that the parts end up being aprox. 1/8" thick. They're thick enough to be strong, yet thin enough to be light.

Arturo has yet to get me a set of his knee armor. Maybe I should get a set of yours. That is, if you're making them wider than your original ones were.

I made one that's about 3/8" wider than the original, for the huskier Fetts, but I havn't molded it yet.

Something just occured to me. Those knees look like the upside down F is on both sides. Did you put two lefts or rights in the pic or do you really have upside down F's on both sides?

The "F" is on both sides. The ledges for the knee darts get attached over the outside "F" on each knee, basicly covering it.

ONce agian great work, got the Neck armor, an its fits my shoulders very nicely, already modified for Boba becuase I couldnt wait , cant wait to paint it.

Still dremmeling my armor. Have yet to trim the knees. I'm hoping that they will fit. *Crosses fingers*

Hey judz, can fiberglass be further bent? I would like my boot armor to come closer to the boot to have the proper snug fit. Right now, its a bit wide. Any tips?

What I did is cut a slight radius on the bottom to make it fit more snug.

To adjust fiberglass pieces slightly, put them in a hot car on a sunny day for a couple hours, then put something inside to expand, or tape to reduce. Allow to sit in a cool area for a few hours, and remove the tape/fixture, and you should be good to go. Don't use a heat gun, torch, oven, or any other heat source that can damage the fiberglass. Hot water (not boiling) works well also. Don't try to alter the pieces too much though, because they could still stress crack.

You could also put some rubber bands around them. After a few days under tension, they'll warp closed a bit.

Whenever an upgrade is made, the old mold is mothballed. Anyone getting anything from me, automaticly gets the latest version available at the time.

As for you Turo, you may just have to come up some weekend and run them yourself. TDH members are keeping me really busy.

I havn't watched a game since the Packlids became a welfare team. If they wanted a new stadium, why should the taxpayers buy it for them? I want a new shop. Ya think I can impose a .5% sales tax to buy it for me?

I'll try to get new pics. I've been kept so busy, that it's hard to take time to lay out the stuff and photograph it, then resizing them and posting. That's why I havn't been hanging out here as much lately. I've been sending it off as soon as it's finished, and starting on the next set.
