Nah, don't worry about it. I had thought about that too, but it's too late to get to me. If I absolutely need a cape, I can just go buy a curtain at Target or Walmart and cut the heck outa it.

Sorry to hear you won't be there, but completely understand your bigger commitments.

    Amazing...breath-taking...Killer!

The bar has been raised again.

Any chance of a few more attaching pics. I'm interested to see how you attach the BKBT collar. Then I will copy that method!

I have the same clips for my backplate (when it arrives) ready to go.

Hope you all have a great time at C4!

    PS: Nice comeback!

Sure, no problem. I actually had to relocate each tab once which was a pain in the butt because I had placed them too far up the first time. So, I'd recommend setting the snap first on the backplate, then test fit it to someone's back as they are wearing your vest and kinda position it where you'd like it. Then lift just the top off a little, smear some R&B on the snap heads and then press it back down so the R&B leaves a little circle where the snap contacts the vest. Then set the snap on the vest. After that, you can set the hook parts on the backplate, and do the same R&B application for them, using the snaps as your guides.

Here are those pics. On the chest armor I used Line 20 snaps from Tandy because they hold strong, are smaller in size than the Line 24s, and because they hold the armor close to the vest. On the back and shoulder armor, I used Line 24 snaps because the backplate is a bigger piece and because the shoulder armor will get a lot of movement (the bottom center snap is there because I had the shoulders too low the first time and decided to move them up and just haven't taken the extra snaps off the vest part). I did rough up the backs of each glued snap head by rubbing it on the floor on a piece of 60 grit sand paper. And I also recessed the 3 snaps on the center diamond about 1/16" so it would be flushed and not buldge out.

Anything else, just let me know.

What are those little hook thingys on either side of the snap? Where did you get them? i assume they are a sewing item.

they are called hem loops or pant loops, something like that. I picked em up in the sewing department at walmart, so any fabric store should have em.

I helped Cruzer suit up at C4 and I have to say that the loop and snap setup is a superb way of attaching your armor.

I am bumping this old thread just because there is a ton of good info in it as far as how to put together a Jango kit.

I have used this thread and referred many people to it over the years but I think most people will never find it without being directed to it...........

It's an older thread but it checks out...........
