    Mar 20, 2009, 2:41 PM - Cruzer Armor on vest #1

I'm working on my Jango v 2.0 so in that quest I've dyed the jumpsuit more purple and I RnB'd the chest armor I got from Cruzer and put it on (with snaps) my gray, vinyl vest. I have a leather vest but I wanted to do a test run with the snaps on this one first.

The snaps were actually much easier than you might think. It takes a little time but it's not hard.

This vest is actually pretty good since I bought the material and sewed this one and a couple more for around $4 worth of materials. More to come as I get it weathered.

    Yeah, looks good!

The snap are a good way to attach the armor. I tend to leave it on as much as possible, since it is tight and I don't want to rip the vest, or break the armor (as I once almost did....)

looks good, but I think there is too much of a gap between the stomach and chest armor.

Yeah, I looked at a lot of different pictures and there are clearly some differences in gap distance depending on the pic. This group of reference photos shows a gap distance comparable to the distance I used. With the vest actually on the gap looks right to me.

yeah, and actually being on you could make it look different than sitting propped up ... so hey, as mny people on here have said, as long as it is the way you want it, it is a-ok with us

Well I appreciate the comments as always and of course want it to look screen accurate. It's not hard to redo the snaps there and I have a couple other vests I made. This was a snap test run. Thanks for the input all. I'll move it up a bit.

The armour on the vest looks great so far. I like the shape of the flaps on the vest for the shoulder bells. Seems like it would give it more range of motion, mind if I borrow that for my vest?

And, while it does look a little low sitting out, I can imagine with it on you the front area prolly pushes up because of the belts and just fitment in general. I bet it looks fine on you, and that extra room for it to move prolly gives you more freedom in your waist movements.

Looks great. Any pics of your snap setup available? Just curious as to how you decided to do it.

There are some posts already outlining the snap process...do a search for Snaps...RUNJEDIRUN has a great tutorial on one of his posts. Phil is always trying to one up everyone in Jango land..LOL! Keeps us on our toes.

Thanks. I always hate asking the noob questions where search would have worked to begin with.

    Appreciate the info.

Very nice though I have to agree the abdomen could be closer to the chest.
