I made it 7 inches to make sure it accommodated the width of the pouch-belt on top of it. If the pouch belt is, say, 3"-4" wide then a 5" girth belt would not allow for much on either side in the way of coverage. It would look way too small, in my opinion. so a 7" belt allows for about 1-2 inches of "peak" above and below the pouch belt.

That said, The belts can be made to whatever width one may want.

I don't know who said it is 7" but they are wrong. If you want to make them accurate they should be about 5" with 19 or 20 braids.

I´m quite short so i guess that a 5" would look more accurate then 7"..on me that is!

I got mine today and it´s great..!!
The only downer is that it was too long..16 cm (6.5") more then the size i was going for..??

First off I'm not here to bash anyone here. Things happen in life that we can't control. That being said communication is the key when money is exchanged for a service or item. I received my first belt from Dave in the wrong size (my fault 100%). He was kind enough to not only make another one for me, but at a $20 discount. Once i sent my paypal payment, Dave told me I should have it by Thanksgiving. It arrived January 25, 2010. Enough said.
