My paint can kept clogging up the other day. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
let me guess Rustoleum.
Those things clog up worse that any other kind of paint I know. I am ususlly lucky to get 25% of the can used.
its not the can its the cap...ur supposed to clear the cap after use...swap the cap out and itll work
I have had horrible luck with my Royal Blue cans in the past from Rustoleum. Even on the first use, they clog up as I was using it. Tried switching out the heads, cleaning them all kinds of stuff but the basic Rustoleum in the white can have a design problem.
Like you said the Painters Touch and the 2X don't do it. I think they use a cheaper design of the can in thier base line.
yeh they did...recently I bought some primer and something else normal and it had the 2x painters touch design with the bigger cap...I do get some that do what your talking about as far as primer dark grey they get 2/3 to 1/4 full and clogg up
Are you turning it upside down and spraying it to clear the nozzle when you're done? The only paint I've had problems with is the line striping yellow.
Yep, cleaning it out.
These will clog up on you while you are using it the first time. The clogging I could deal with, the thing that got me irratated was when it started to drip aroung the nozzle, and not little drips. I finally just decided that was the price of using that style can and lived with it. Lifes too short to let a 3 dollar paint can ruin your day.
Cans can clog as well , the way to clean them is to get a bamboo scewer and gently push the tip in to the valve (Note this is for Female cans for male cans just push the valve down with out the cap on it and it should clean out the clogged paint) the paint will spray out so, direct the spray on to old news paper or some thing , if its the cap , for acrylics soak in metho if its for enamels soak in white spirts, (white spirits will work also on acrylic laqures )
,
but you see that is a ton of work for a 3 dollar can of spray paint. lol
I got a can of spruce green recently, and it had a new wide nozzle on it... Sprayed like a dream... Hoping that this is going to be done to all of the paints. The only kind besides the 'new nozzle' type that I HAVEN'T had trouble with is the aluminum bright coat.
I'm going to buy a new can of royal blue.
Man tried clearing out a can of rusto primer but its about 95% full and its clogged up its got a male top any tips BGHunter?
