Classic kit to Arena Jet Pack conversion (pic heavy)

WOW what a piece of junk you started with. :puke Your right ... that has to be the worst jet pack ever bought on ebay.

However, you did a fantastic job created one of the best Arean packs I have ever seen. :cheers

Great Job.

Here we go...

Thanks everybody for the awesome feedback. I’m glad you like the final product as much as I do. I knew that if there were any people in this big wide world who could appreciate another small example of time invested into Mandalorian prop building, it would be you guys. Plus, I was hoping to draw upon everyone’s expertise, knowledge, and attention to detail to give me feedback both positive and constructive. You have and I value your feedback. Please let me know of any possible changes you see that could still be made that would enhance the jet pack. I know I’ve left out the Missile Thrust Vent at the bottom. Initially I picked up a 2” pvc slip cap (rounded kind) to place in there but it was too big. So, I’m going to see if a 1.5” pvc slip cap will fit in there as soon as I can swing by the hardware store and pick one up. And I know it’s weathered quite a bit, but I really like the weathered looked. I call it the “Jango was knocked down, kicked around, and drug by his crown but didn’t loose IT” weathered look. Plus I just recently noticed that my Jango costume seems to have taken on the look from the Bust-Ups toy line version. So it’s all cool to me.

Hey here’s a thought though and I’d appreciate any feedback on this idea. Has anyone ever looked closely at the arena jet pack featured of the EP II Visual Dictionary (just realized that was a dumb question for a Jango forum). But anyways on the full frontal pic of the jet pack(not the one on Jango’s back) there seems to be tiny red dots at the tips of those nut looking things sticking out from the bottom sides (what I used the brass reducing couplers and ½” pvc pipe for). Am I just seeing things or is it possible that there are some red LED’s there? I know that there were 6 or 8 different costumes made. Is it possible that one of the Arena Jet Packs had red LED’s at the tips of those nuts? Just a thought! But let me know what you think cause I’m thinking about making the mod this weekend and installing some LED’s on the jet pack.

Thanks goes out to Seeker cause I had like 3 or 4 of your arena jet pack pics printed out and scattered around the workbench as ref. pics throughout this whole process, even carried one around with me in my back pocket when looking for paint colors. Man I swear the West coast doesn’t carry the same colors as the East coast. Thanks to JangoUri, the cool dude representing from Spain, I saw how awesome your arena jet pack looked and was motivated. Oh, and to whomever asked about what paint I used for the greasy corners parts, I used a small can of flat dark gray paint that comes in the American Accent paint kit found at Walmart. It’s one of those make anything (even your neighbor’s dog) look like weathered Pewter kits. There’s a shot of the can on the far right of the pic with the paints(really small can).

Catch you later and I’ll try to access the site again after work,

Cruzer
