Calling all Trooping Jango's

Yesterday I did my first 501st troop event. Overall it was a great time but I noticed specific issues with the costume...mostly the legs. I'm looking for easy ways to strap down the shin armor and keep the cod piece from dropping below the girth belt. I know many of you with completed suits have trooped and you will have at least an idea of what I'm talking about.

My jet pack harness has two purposes. One, it keeps my jet pack nice and hi. Two, it also keeps my codpiece up. I have two nylon straps that connect to my codpiece via snaps.
As far as the shins, I did mine just like the real deal. I have two elastic straps in each side and connect them with snaps. Make sure the elastics are nice and tight in order for the shins to stay tight on your shin.
If you’re interested in my one of harnesses, I’ll be making some for sale later this month. It will look just like the one you see here, but a modified version. It will do the same job.

I use straps through the inside of the suit to hold the knees and calfs on. My cod piece is attached to my girth belt with chicago screws. My holsters/thighs, cod/girth/ammo belt is one big assembly and goes on at one time. It's all connected together.

Give me a few minutes and I'll take some pics showing what has worked well for me.

You're going to need a couple pliers, a 1/4 drill bit, and two screw posts like the ones sold at Tandy. I like to use a 1/4 screw post at the top and a 3/8 screw post for the one going through the d-ring holder. Be sure to start high on your cod and adjust the d-ring holder downward if necessary, so you don't drill any holes that will need to be filled later. Any holes drilled will be hidden by the d-ring holder.

Basically, I use the same method as above.
I attached the cod piece to the girth belt with small srews.

Thanks all! Seeing how 3/4 of the stuff I have is Cruzer made I should be able to mod those pieces together with no problems. Again, this is a great thread and perhaps it should be "stickied" as there is some valuable info here. Seeker, thanks for posting pics of the shin armor with your explanation.

I've got my cod piece attached close to the bottom of my girthbelt, and it's worked well for me thus far. As for jet pack harness... mine's currently a camelback hydration pack, but I'm planning to re-do one more like FettDads. On long troops, I find that my current harness tends to slide down my back, causing my jet pack to drop lower on my back and pushes my vest up until my collar armor hits my throat.

I had that same problem until I made my rig. Try what I did and you'll be very happy. Sometimes I dont even feel my jet pack.

I have to say that I have one of Fett Dad's harnesses and my Jet Pack is comfy and in place. For me it's really about everything below the girth belt. I'm going to try Cruzer's mode for making it one piece and I'll use Arturo's shin straps method.

I'm working on my Jango and am narrowing down what is left. Arturo is the "gold standard" for what I've seen although Phil has really been biting at his heels. This costume is never actually "finished" is it?

I have your old harness Seeker and it is awesome! No complaints here. Very similar to that new one you have pictured above.
