BKBT Overhaul

So, yesterday, I touched up some more areas with some bondo on the mandibles, which were once visible before I started this. Now, from what I can tell, is that those trouble spots are no longer visible, so it's a good sign. I painted the light blue as well. Just gotta tape off the light blue and paint the cheeks, and clear coat those two colors.

Still in search of some new RF/ear caps for this!

Hmm..I dunno why, but for some reason, despite using the same exact brand of krylone ocean blue, it still cures darker then other times Ive used it, i.e., my last helmet build up. It cured this dark the first time I painted it ever. Oh well then. The royal blue came out very nice and even. Its shiny too lol. Going to give this all a clear coat, and then tape it off to start the silver!

Great lid so far Chris!
I know 'who' I'll be contacting for some paint tips on my Jango when I get one... ;)

Well, no pics as of right now, but I painted the rubb and buff, and added the pin stripes last night. Pretty much almost done, I may be re-using my ears though :/

Hmm...Im a little dissapointed with certain things concerning the surface of the helmet and those issues appearing after being painted. Im thinking about striipping the silver and re-doing the inner cheek/silver line, it came out a bit "jagged," the worst Ive done it before. Need to sand the dome, back and lower cheeks better, possibly use some bondo to fill areas.

Not happy with those imperfections

Holy old thread

Well, I decided to start this over....again. I've lost track of how many times I've sanded and re-painted this bucket. Just sanded about 90% of if off..the inner cheeks are giving me some trouble.

Going to make sure I get it right this time.
