BKBT Jango Helmets and Armor Back In Production!

Hey guys,

I'm excited to announce I will have the honor of resuming production of some of the best and most accurate fan-made Jango parts ever to hit the Jango costuming scene...BKBT's Jango helmets and armor pieces.

I'm humbled that he has allowed me to continue making his awesome parts available to the wonderful members here, and I'm excited about prospective directions for his parts and mine in the areas of screen-accurate CC production, Hyper-Firm stunt armor, and hopefully even vacformed armor as an economical alternative for both Jangos and custom Mandos alike.

Thanks guys for the encouragement and support. I'll begin to familiarize myself with the molds once they arrive next week, and should be ready to begin taking orders by the beginning/middle of December. I'll start working on the first few orders during the weekends, and then production should speed up significantly during my three week winter break at the end of December.

I look forward to making BKBT's awesome parts available once more!

Absolutely Marvellous Lorenzo. Will we be able to see pics? Options of variations to make, cc, vac formed etc. Mainly price would be great to see.

I would be interested in Jango armour. Can't wait for the run of these.
Cruzer you mainly the one great source for Jango parts, - gauntlets, gun holster, westar guns, backplate, helmet and lower armour. Only knees, ammo belt, flak vest, gloves, boots and jet pack lol.

BKBT made Jet Packs, does this mean you got the mold for that too?

TLobe00, believe me when I say producing these parts is like a dream come true. Shy of having the actual screen-used parts in hand, BKBT along with Bobamaker and Seeker, have all taken us one step away from complete screen accuracy.

Mandalorian Guard, Dark-Side and Seeker are the knee masters; likewise Seeker for ammo belts, Bobamaker or Loanstar for leather vests, Reinone for boots, and Bobamaker or MLC or MOW for jet packs. I couldn't come close to the achievements these masters have made with their parts. There isn't a jet pack included in the molds I'll be receiving as far as I know.

As for prices, I'm still working on those. I have some estimations for both gelcoat and CC versions based on BKBT's pricing, the anticipated amount of resins and time each part will take, and estimated shipping costs via USPS Priority mail. However, I'd like to make a few parts before setting them in stone.

I'm still wrapping my head around how to proceed with the sale of all these items, but I do know I don't want to bog down the Jango forum with run threads. Maybe I'll beg Sci-Fire to set me up with a linked website to their site or something where I can post pics, pricing, etc.

Thanks guys for the positive response so far. I've gotten a few PMs already and I just want to reiterate a few things I've told people via PM.

• Please PM me with requests so that we can start the communication process.
• I can still make gelcoat backplates for $95 on my first mold. There will be a small indention on the left shoulder that will need minor filling.
• I'm only accepting paid preorders so that I know exactly how much material to preorder and have ready to go.
• There will be a cut off for this winter push of armor production because I'm only going to accept enough orders that I feel I can complete in the given amount of time. Once I go back to work my time will be limited again and so will the armor production.

Found this today, this is Cruzer's backplate runs he has done in the past. I'm not speaking for Cruzer but am sure the prices are different due to new mold and different techniques he now does.

For those that are new and unsure of Cruzer's qaulity of work, I would like to comment that you have absolutly nothing to worry about. His attention to detail and experience with casting is exceptional and outstanding. I have seen his work in person, and can assure everyone that you will recieve the highest quality possible!

I've decided to not take any more orders for now. This is primarily because I received more orders for CC than expected, and CC production takes a lot longer than standard gelcoat. So I just want to make sure I can finish the orders I have in a reasonable time. Once I begin finalizing these orders, I'll begin taking more...hopefully in the beginning of January.

I'll post some pics as soon as I can of both the gelcoat and cold cast results.

I am relatively new around here and was looking around for where to get some armor (bought a Jango from a fellow garrison member that is missing a few armor pieces and some that are in need of being replaced....and I am going to want to upgrade it anyway in the future). Looks like I have found the right place to come for it Seems that everyone thinks very highly of your armor and I am sure I will too. Hope to get some ordered from you in January. Thanks

Welcome. TDH is the place to be for this costume. I can only take credit for a few lessor parts of the Jango suit. However, the large majority of the armor I now make is from the awesome designs of a fellow member, BKBT. He's a legend in Jango armor. I was just fortunate enough to be able to carry on his legacy after his prop making retirement.

I should have pics up within the week of his and my armor.

whats the difference between trimmed gelcoated fiberglass and unpolished aluminum cold casted fiberglass? like is the other one stronger or is it on how good it looks?

lol going to answer since I'm already here and I'm pretty bored at the moment..

Cold cast fiberglass is the process of mixing aluminum powder in the fiberglass resin. The result, when casted with this mixed resin, will result in a very convincing and realistic looks and feel of aluminum/metal, and thus, no need to paint the silver portions if a jango helmet was casted with this method.

If I may add, the strength is probably the same becuase the majority of the strength is in the fiberglass backing.

The CC looks great!!! Its not a big deal, but one minor change I would make is that I'd buff the CC with the steel wool in a circular fashion rather than horizontally. But still, they look amazing. If I didn't already have so much of BKBT's armor already finished I'd consider going all CC.

Okay, this may seem like a silly question, but what size range is this armor good for? I'm 5'8" on a good day. I know BKBT is for "Bigger Kids", so is this armor sized for th 6'+ crowd or would I be safe ordering it?

That is a good question. I am 5'9 myself

I'm only 5'8 (on a good day). I got some vac formed armor that was based off the BKBT armor and it fit me fine. So us screen accurate sized Jango's should be good to go on ordering.

You guys are going to be just fine! BKBT basically designed his armor from pictures of the screen used suits in order to be as "screen accurate" as possible and with Temuera Morrison being around 5'8" and Jeremy Bullock being around 5'11" / 6'0", anything in that height range with weight being proportioned correspondingly, will still look correct!

In my opinion, this armor is ideally fitted for anyone in the 5'6"-5'11" range, but I've seen it look good on 6' guys as well. So you're right in the middle of the target height range if you're 5'8"-5'9".

The backplate and boot armor are soon to come. In the meantime, here's the first CC helmet pull. I polished only the silver areas that are actually exposed.

That looks amazing! You're really pushing the envelope on quality! Although it may be awhile as I piece meal these items it's awesome to know that quality like this is out there. For now, the garbage can armor will have to do...sigh.
