BKBT armor on new vest

Yep. BKBT helmet. Shoulders are also BKBT, they came with the armor. Can't think of any names that I like.

Im not a color expert, but from the pics of the real thing compared to your vest, I think its pretty dead on as far as color. I honestly dont think it needs to be darker, but thats from what I think.

For my opinion the vest has to be darker.

I got this from Cruzer....thanks Cruzer....... Scuff up the backs of the snaps with some sandpaper. rough up the back of the armor where you want to attach the snap with sandpaper. Put down a circle of CA glue, put on the snap, hit it with the instant set, then go around all the edges and the center with the CA glue and instant set it again.

Weathering, just used some burnt umber, earthy tones on a dry brush. I dabbed it on, worked most of it off on a paper plate, then went lightly around the edges. If I put on too much, I had a towel handy to wipe it off.

I've never used the instant set. I love C/A glue and use it all the time but I didn't think about just gluing the snap sockets directly to the fiberglass. I thought I'd have to set the snaps in a strip of metal and then glass them on or something.

I actually bent the snaps oval trying to remove some of them. They hold pretty well and keeps the armor close to the vest.
