armor size (pic update post #20)

I got in some items the other day so I threw on some of my Jango I am working on and snapped a quick pic. I just literally threw the stuff on so it was sloppy. However, I noticed that the armor appears a bit big for me in the chest. I am 5-10 and about 185 so I am a fairly average guy. It suprised me when I looked at the pic to see how little room there was on the chest armor.

The armor is wickedbeard that I got from a fellow TDH member in the cargo hold.

My question is how tricky is it to cut down armor? OR
Do you think that I can space this out enough to make it work without cutting? OR
Do I need to look at upgrading and selling this to a larger guy?

I am going to replace the vest so moving the armor would not be a problem if there is room to do so.

I dont think it looks to big maybe just need to space it out a little bit and thats a maybe...the helmet looks to be sitting very high on your head...the collar armor could come up a little...but i dont think it looks to big at all

yeah I am working on another helmet at the moment also. I have an Asok CC that I got about a week ago. That helmet is an M-DSB which is really well made but I feel like it is a bit short. Looking at the picture you would think I had a long neck, but it is actually very normal. I definitly agree on the collar armor coming up some.

I really am hoping that it is just the spacing on the vest, but this is my first build so I have no point of reference.

I don't think it's a spacing issue. That armor is just too big for you. You should either sell it to someone larger and buy some movie sized armor or cut it down to your size.

The girth is throwing things off a bit its sitting way high...wickedbeard armor is MOVIE sized last I heard... I really think its a wearing issue that can be adjusted

Seems like that armor is way to big for you. I would sell it and maybe get some cold cast stuff from cruzer. Or send wickedbeard a message and see if he could resize it for you. Since its metal i dont know how easy it will be to cut yourself.

I was worried about the side to side mainly. I am really a medium framed guy with a somewhat athletic build (if I do say so myself) I was suprised when the armor looked that big on me. I really thought I would be "Jango size". I do think that the girth belt came up too high. I may try to take my time and put the armor on the best I can and then have someone else take the picture. Like I said I just kind of threw the stuff on because I was exited about getting in the holsters, ammo belt and flight suit. The ammo belt wasn't on because it doesn't have a way to fasten it yet.

Keep the criticism coming I want to get a good looking Jango at the end of this and I know that this forum has some quality criticism.

on a side note I am suprised at how thin I look in that pic. "does this armor make my butt look big"

Screen-cast/accurate Jango armor has chest pieces that are just under 6 inches wide at the widest part and just under 9 1/2" at their longest point.

This will be wider than screen accurate then. I whipped out the ruler last night and the chest piece is almost 7 inches at its widest point, that is tip to tip, and it is 9 3/4 long at the longest point. The ab plate is 10 1/2 wide and 6 1/3 long. The center diamond is 3 1/2 by 1 1/2.

So I do think that this will be slightly larger than screen accurate. The guy I got it from said he was only 5-7, so I thought there would be no way this was too big.

Something you could think about doing is padding the front of your vest to give your armor some room to push out, if that makes sense. Find something to stuff inside your vest on your chest and see if that helps at all?

1" wider in the chest armor is a huge difference. You really should consider trimming it down or getting different armor. I really don't think any amount of padding will make it look right.

The Boba wicked beard armor is thin metal sandwich with foam inner...so it shouldnt be to hard to trim down.

The Jango armor is the same way. It has the two thin layers with foam in the middle. I am going to do some experimenting but I think this will end up being an exercise in trimming the edges.

I went back to look at some pictures of the guy I bought it from but I never could see a good straight on shot. He is always bladed away from the camera.

Ok now this gets more interesting to me. I printed off the WOF templates for a person who is 5-9. I choose that because it seemed like the way to go even though I am slightly taller than that. I printed them off and found that they were 6 3/4 wide by 10 inches long. Now I know that I was measuring a flat piece as opposed to a shaped finished product, but that is still considerably bigger than the screen used armor.

How tall is Temura Morrison? I didn't think he was that short.

You're probably better off selling this... instead of chopping it up to make it fit you... I wouldn't risk messing with the nice metal armor and maybe it NOT looking right... you should be able to get back what you paid for it and buy something bettter proportioned to you.

I really hate to concede this but I think you are probably right.

Just to get some opinions........................if I were to sell this do ya'll think it would be better to sell the whole armor head to toe or just the chest and ab? And on that note on my next days off I think I will try to suit up completely in this and get some more pics so that they can be thouroughly critiqued.

Here is an updated picture that I took last night. I used some magnets to kind of hold the armor in place, as you can see the snaps are showing on the vest. I also tried to put the armor on a bit more carefully.

I would appreciate more comments and critiques on the suit.
