Armor Attachment

I know there is a few ways to attach armor pieces, and rangefinders, etc...velcro, buttons, I've even seen people glue armor to their jumpsuit (eurgh). Magnets have always been my favorite. Not messy, more reliable...ANYWAY. To the point:

Cheap, POWERFUL magnets in sizes small enough to use to attach the RF stalk to the bucket, and big enough so your holsters don't come off of your cod. I'm using them in my new project....recently sold all of my old Jango suit, except my bucket, and am starting fresh. Seeker/Cruzer/BobaMaker stuff. MMmmm, perfect. Just thought I'd point out that site for those of you who use magnets.

It also has a bulk magnets page where you can get thousands at a time for like... .05 cents a magnet =p. Anyway....happy costuming =)

Hi! Which one of those magnets do you recommend to attach armor to a vest/jumpsuit? And would they be strong enough to place behind the material without having to adhere them somehow? Thanks!

I'm using the ones that are only .063" thick. Diameter is your preference, but the .125 are the smallest. For bigger pieces, more surface area is better. I'm sewing the magnets onto the vest/jumpsuit by just getting a thin piece of fabric about 1"x1" and sewing a circle around the magnet to hold it in place. Then, hot gluing the corresponding magnet onto the armor piece. You really only want one layer of fabric between the magnets, otherwise it won't be strong enough...unless you want to use like 6 per piece =p. I'll update with better info once I get more into it...I'm in the process of moving so it might be a bit before I get pics up.

with snaps and Hooks Glue it on the backplate;)
