Anyone need some Jango armor?

OK, the wife said my box showed up today but the kids wrapped it to give it to me for Christmas. So I'm yet to see it. I sure hope thats whats in the box when I open it.

I would like to add something...please do not confuse me with this guy! LOL

I have had some folks looking for armor contact me thinking i was this guy...beleive me...i don't stiff people....when i sell stuff, you get what i sell...

yeah i think i made this mistake a few times. i'm kind of new to this board so i apologize. however, i'm glad i read this thread about the armor run. i was about to order knees from him. hope you all get it resolved. this kind of stuff makes me so weary of purchasing armor these days. good luck to all of you.

I have an update from Judz Dwedd tonight.

He has an order he's Finishing up tonight that is supposed ot be going to Minnesota.
He also has some of the parts made for two European orders and is hoping to have them finished and shipped before Christmas.

I think these are the last three orders he has.

Hey Jun Garros - Have you heard from Anthrock - He was supposed to be the one to help Judz with the project...pretty bad helper...

I'm glad you were able to help out - if you hadn't, I'm sure Judz would never had come through...

I believe he would have.
Judz Dwedd in the past has had a good selling record here.
His last order and this set have been lackluster because of slow delivery but he has always delivered the product to the customer.

Antrock wasn't supposed to help him in terms of making the parts with JD at his shop. Antrock helped JD out years ago and JD let him make his own molds from JD's originals. Antrock re appeared only to help once again to take up some of extra orders if people wanted more parts. He did not recieve any orders so he closed the list.

That is what i was told by JD and i am sorry for apparently posting wrong about Antrock's involvement as a helper.

Maybe he can take all the bad pulls, put them together and do a charity raffle here.

Stress cracks are fairly easy to fix for most people.

It would spread some good will, and maybe help his reputation.

Maybe put them in the Karma Thread Pool.

Just thinking out loud. Only because if say FP had a stress cracked helmet, that broke his heart, I know I would have taken it to make him feel better:)

Seriously though, Jun, you really helped him out. If you hadnt kept communication going, people may or may not have received the items, but with no damage control, things still would have spiraled out of control.

Cheers from Kzoo MI,
Mason

I've known JD for a few years now and have been to his house many times. I find him to be a honest and upright person from what I know of him and feel that this has just been an unfortunate turn of events.

In working with him with Gelcoat and fiberglass, I know it takes time and patience to get these parts done. and he has a LOT of experience and does quality work.

So I guess all I can say is patience is the key and you'll get quality stuff. I bet he just got swamped with more orders that he thought he'd get.

Below are pics taken of my just arrived JD armor.:) I find them to be very clean pulls of high quality, inside and out. Although the items took several months to arrive, I am very happy with my purchase.(y) I would caution anyone who is looking for armor pieces quickly, to find a set for sale in the Cargo Hold. If you find that you have the time to wait, feel free to jump in on a "run" as it probably will take some time.

137 days later, my order arrived.

Mucho thanks to Jun Garros Fett, without whom this I am sure would have taken much longer.

As far as the product, I am happy with everything except the chest armor, not such a clean pull, a few large chunks on an otherwise smooth plate. Hopefully these can be sanded down and smoothed out.

Again, thank you Brian for the time you have actually spent dealing with this issue. I hope JD buys you a round or twenty for the work you put in helping him deal with this.

so is there any way to get a set from JD?
Sorry.
Presently he is finishing up the last order and does not plan on making any more for quite a while.

If he does make any armor later on it will be in limited quantities and made before he offers it for sale. If he is still a TDH member after this that is.

I am glad i could be of some help in this matter.
I know what it's like to have to wait months for stuff like this and i hate it too.

Thank you to everybody for having some patientce in this matter.
That comes from me and JD.

Brian.
:cheers

WOW!!
I've been gone for a lil while and looky what people without patience are saying about one of the most honest and hard working friends I have had the fortune of knowing for over 15 years now. JD,in my opinion, is the greatest engineer of fiber glass costumes I have ever seen. His work rivals that of studio work. Actors is the biz have worn and seen his work first hand at cons and have all marveled at his craftsmanship. I am extremely grateful for everything that he has ever helped me create...In 15 years that has been a lot of fun stuff...If you only knew...lol
I never stated I was helping JD with the runs he took on...I offered to take more orders of MY OWN to help out with the ones who missed his dead line. I have my own molds of exactly the same armor. I used to make Boba and variant helmets for people a while back. I opened my doors for a month and no one was serious...so I closed shop on that and I gotta say I am glad I did not take any offers with the way some people around here throw out comments and pre judge good folk.
I saw the orders he got...and there were a few...I saw the work he did and know first hand how long it takes. Loren and I are perfectionists and we take pride in our work....so it takes longer than running quick ****...Pardon the language...We also have lives outside of fantasy land here. Loren is married...was between jobs...remodeled his house before winter and is expecting his first born soon...To do all that and fill runs for you is amazing in my eye's. I couldn't have done everything he has this summer...I give the guy credit for ALL that he has done for this forum and I don't blame him if he never sells another piece of his work.
To All the good people who trusted Loren and had patience...I Thank You...All who gave him **** and froze up his Pay Pal account for no reason than lack of patience...Well...be happy cause you got the last run of what is "The Best" Jango armor in the WORLD...lol
Can't wait to get started on the Cyber Man costume next...Star Wars is old news anyways...."The Doctor" is the future of Sci-Fi now...Fantastic!!

Antrock,

Sorry to say, but I believe that you and JD were in the wrong here. What happened to you "taking over" his little armour business? Even if taking over wasn’t your intention, why is it you haven’t heard about this “problem” before now? I believe that JD does have contact with you, and if you have an extra set of molds, perhaps those could have been used to speed up production.

First I would like to bring up your little comment, “people without patience,” those impatient people have been waiting more or less four months for their armour and have had absolutely no contact with the maker. As of now, I don’t consider JD to be an honest seller and he is blacklisted in my mind from ever purchasing from, if I spend money, I want to know what’s going on with it. I also believe it was a great thing that his PayPal account was frozen, did he even dispute with PayPal? PayPal obviously thought he was in the wrong, and so does everyone else here on the board, buyer or not.

I truly understand that we have lives outside of our costuming hobby, but I believe that checking one’s e-mail is something that a normal person does several times a day. If one doesn’t answer repeated e-mails dealing with this matter, that isn’t the problem of the buyer, it’s the seller’s problem. Also, if the one who started the run doesn’t have the time or resources to start a run, it should never have been started.

If I were a buyer here and had to deal with the thought that I may not get my product or money back over the course of 3-5 months, and not having any contact with the seller, I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing it.

If JD would have been on the forums communicating with the members, he wouldn’t have any problems. People here are understanding, but if one starts to ignore them, there will be a problem with the membership and administration.
