4th time the charm? Machined Metal Jango Blasters interest thread

Well here we go again. I'm really hoping something will come of this, its through a member on the RPF. His shop makes props, so I'm pretty sure that we'll have a better chance of doing this for real this time.

I sent the WOF templates to him, and asked for a quote for 10 sets or 20 individual blasters parts. We would have everything but the grip made in metal. I was thinking about getting a metel master grip made for molding purposes just how MR and the screen used Hero blasters are.

So he says that he'll be taking the drawings to his shop later this week, and should be able to produce a quote.

I'm not holding my breath though, based on the past few machinist that skipped out.

Tuba if you have the drawins already Im sure that my machinist here in town can make them, and at a very good price.

What drawings are you giving him? Do you have cad, or wof's flat drawings?

I ask because when I spoke to him last, he said making it is not a problem, but he didnt have time to do the cad, acurate atm, and all i had to show him was a kids blaster:)

Let me know I can get you his contact information, or we can have a 3 way conference call if you would like to discuss it with him.

It is WOF flat drawings, but I'm sure you can build them up in CAD. Actually...I probably can myself, but I dont have the program on my personal computer :/

If you can get a quote from him, I'd like to see what we can work out

Interested to see what you guys come up with here, my machine shop old timers are more than capable - just seem to want to talk glass eyes to sleep with stories of a bygone era?

Maybe your original guys are still chatting it over?

Good luck with it guys. may be up for a set pending price.

TC,

I've got a guy in my Garrison that's got the ability to do a full CNC work up and he's no stranger to SW, if your local machinists fall through would you be willing to talk to him about doing a run?

For both of you guys, if you can contact your machinists, provide them with the WOF CAD drawings, ask them to quote you for a run of 20 blasters (10 sets) for only the barrel, trigger and pistol butt. Also mention weather or not they would be able to provide the brass pieces as well (inside the barrel and the notch in the back of the cartridge)

I'll be willing to talk to your contacts directly if you wish instead. Thanks

My guy is contacting his shop today with the plans, he also has a MR Westar set that he will reference if needed.
