Super Trooper Flame Thrower

Has anyone ever noticed in this pic that the flame thrower is SHOOTING A FLAME?

I searched a bit and saw nothing mentioned about it...the pic clearly shows a flame shooting out of the flamethrower not just for looks

Yeah apparently it caught fire to the gauntlet and they canned the idea of having a working flamer

I've seen it mentioned somewhere that the gauntlet and jetpack were both functional....well had features anyways . I thought that someone even burned their arm slightly while wearing it.

I read (in the making of esb book, I think) that there was a propane leak that caused the flamethrower to burn the gauntlet/arm/whatever and caused them to scrap that idea.

All you need is a 1 way check valve and a electric fuel pump with a momentary contact switch. A fuel pump from a motorcycle works perfect if you connect a short rigid line and a jet on the end. The ignitor could be the battery powered lighter from a propane grill rigged on the same switch as the pump to start / stop both at the same time.......not that I've thought it through or anything.

It has been confirmed it's fire, not a scratch.

Love that Flame thrower. I have been working on that for a bit now. You'll be able to buy it with FP gauntlets.

Seeker is talking about making the Supertrooper flamethrower unit. Not a functional flamethrower.

And I was pointing out that the unit was working there was speculation that they ha it working at one point like the thrusters. But never noticed the pic had the flame shooting until last night looking at pics for glove material
