Splat does FettPride Armor!

Okay so no work in progress just yet.

I just got back from the post office and picked up and opened my FettPride ESB armor! Loving it already! So much work ahead of me.

Congrats! Can't wait to see the paintup!

Yup starting to do the trimming this afternoon, plan on starting with the knees and working my way up.

Okay I started work on the shoulders and the knees....started with sanding and a coating of automotive primer. Added a layer of Krylon Silver and will now start marking off areas with pencil for masking fluid.

Oh I cant wait to get mine! Cant wait to see more pics either

Added a zinc chromate boarder around the siver spots I'd like to keep....once dry I'll mask with liquid masker and airbrush the main yellow.

Masked everything I wanted and then sprayed a coat of UP Armor Yellow. Let it dry overnight and then pulled the masking and added a little bit of weathering to it. Will weather a bit more after I apply the shoulder decal. The other shoulder just got sprayed with the orange and is drying...will update that as well here soon.

Thanks, the shoulders and knees are finished...they are drying with a coat of sealer and dullcoat right now and I'll take pics later.

Did they come with the knee darts or did you get them elsewhere? Im waiting on my FP armor too

They come with resin darts but most replace with the machined ones.

Yeah the knee darts are machined, the ones Chris provide are great resin ones but I went with the full metal look. As for my first time painting...armor yes..lol.

Cool I guess Ill take a look at them when i get em can always upgrade, did you go with evolutions?

Oh forgot to say that, yes...those are from EVO.

Oh cool i ordered his gauntlet darts the other day and boots...Is there a big difference? Worth the what 25 bucks right?

wow, looks great, especially for a first timer... you ARE referring to first time painting ARMOR and not first time painting right? Either way, great job.

Fett 4 Real, not sure about his boots but the guantlet darts are pretty cool, I have those as well....make a nice touch.

And yes Bacta, first time painting armor...not painting period. I have been building models since I was 4.

I just got finished in the garage sanding down the cod and kidney plate so those should get a coat of primer this afternoon.

Got busy this afternoon and sanded down all remaining parts, got in a groove...hehehe.

This is some stuff drying with primer (looks green huh?) and after it dries it will get a coat of metal.

Sprayed Medium Green, ready for the mask to come off and detail weathering....

I've been adding the highlight colors and about to add a slight dusting of Earthen Brown....then the mask can come off and then, and then, and then.....lol.

Okay finished with the colors and removed the masking....detailing coming up next.

Here are the finished up pieces...jetpack is next.

Tell the truth I'm not sure of the maker....I got it from FettDad as a ROTJ but I'm in the process of turning it ESB.

I have everything mounted on the vest now and will take pics....I've been working on the jetpack and getting that ready as well.

Im working on adding the top scratch to my MSH1 right now! Ill be adding to my thread sometime. Cant wait to see yours all mounted up, what are you using to paint airbrush i assume?

Yeah airbrushed everything except the zinc chromate....I ran out of med green for the back plate and jetpack but was able to find a rattle can at Home Depot that matches it pretty good, Hunt Club Green.

Not the best pic due to the sunshine but this is everything mounted on my vest....I'll suit up and have my "photographer" take some better pics later.

OK dumb noob question. I've seen this color brought up a few times, but what is UP yellow? I really like the look of it.

UP armor Yellow is the real name...its very close to zinc chromate.

mines polyscale...but like i said u can goto wally world any one of the twenty in Abq and get Bauhaus gold its the same exact color...ive tested this out and its cheaper too
