    ruffkin gauntlet question???

im looking at the ruffkin rotj gauntlets i picked up awhile back and it appears when they were fiberglassed it pulled out ( bowed)the edges on the bottom halves. to a point where if i trim them down to get the alighnment right with the tops basically they wont fit my arms nemore and i will loose the overlap the top outside would have with the bottom. so my question is: has anyone been able to re-shape the gauntlets after being glassed?? and if so what methods were used??? id really appreciate some advice!!
    thanks! ~shawn

Eat works if distributed evenly. I don't know how the plastic will be affected though..

    Re: ruffkin gauntlet question???

lol while i was eating .... i gave the bottom halves of the gauntlets a bath in hot water for about 10 min, made them plyable enough to bend them w/o damaging the glassing on the interior. so i held it in place while runnig it undercold water for 5 min, so far so good! but if anyone has a different way they tried im curious to hear about it!! thanks for the help fellas!

Well, sounds like the heat/cool method worked out for you.
Was the glass layer actually separating from the outer styrene shells? Or did it just warp the shells a little?

The shells actually warped out about 1/2" on the left one and 5/8" on the right one, but ive moved the left back in place, but im a little worried when i try the right one that it may pop the glass. if that happens ill juts re-glass it i guess.
