    ROTJ Dry Run

Putting together a ROTJ and have a great helmet from AFettfullofdollars and he is painting my jet pack. I painted up my RKD armor and am doing a dry run so my wife can sew my velcro to the vest. Looking for comments on placement/fitment. Please keep in mind this is a dry run. I havent fitted my helmet with padding and the belt, girth and cod were just held in place with rubber bands and my gloves are temporary. Its rough.....just trying to get the chest situated. Any comments would be appreciated, also I weathered the vest a little.....but I think it needs some more grey and maybe blackish dusting?? what do you guys think? Thanks

Your vest looks like a Tshirt not a vest there shouldnt be sleeves I'm guessing cucblack vest? I mentioned to him he needs to move the shoulder seem in on the top on the vest to get a better look. The armor looks good pull that ammo belt up its falling down a bit distracting my eyes. But get that vest sleeves sorted out they shouldn't hang low like that

The vest is a TK409...........but Ill see what I can do to adjust. . Do you think it needs more weathering? The ammo belt and girth were literally just hanging there ....so that will get adjusted. Thanks for the help!

Dang I didn't know chris's did that I was about to order one. The real test on weathering for the vest is flash photography if it doesn't light up ita good IMHO so I think your good if there was flash involved there? The shoulders are to wide if u follow me. My cucblack vest does that and I was about to order a tk409 vest and neck seal. So maybe I should give him measurements a little to narrow?

Most were with a flash a few were not. Ill dust it a little bit more with some grey. I thought I gave my measurements pretty tight.....so Im not sure on that part.

The armor and the helmet look fine, but your flightsuit's much too loose in the arms...
The short sleeves hang too low, and there's too much fabric bunched up between the sleeves and the gauntlets.

I agree and am aware of that part.......when I do final fitments and hoses are installed alot of that will go away. BUT, I do agree. THX

I have a TK 409 vest too... when it was new it looked just like this shape wise at the top. Its not so bad after a few years. I would give it a washing a few times to take the "newness" out and the shoulders wouldn't stick out. I think I should have given a measurement that was a liitle smaller too. But that's my fault because I measured everything myself. I should have had some oneelse do it.

As far as shinyness goes... I used gray and black primer (rustoleum gray, krylon black) to dirty up my vest.

I'll dry giving it a wash then I'll add a little more mist of grey and black. Thanks for the tip.

I don't really have anything to add. Looks like everyone else pretty much covered it already. Can't wait to see it all put together proper though!

I updated with some pics of my shoulder pieces. They are not totally done....still need to damage them up a bit. The knees are just stand ins I bought on here and repainted until I build my actual knees these will get me by for now.....then they will get donated to make my wifes custom female mando. Re: ROTJ Dry Run

I actually bought that off someone in my garrison.....someone a few years back was making foam/nerf blasters and selling them here(not sure his name). Its one of his. I dont think he is around anymore, I think there were some issues...not sure. I seen it and thought it was great for trooping. Needed some reinforcing here and there. For what I paid(not much) I will see how it holds up!

Actually I just remembered the name of the maker of the foam/nerf gun....I think it was Hotshot.

Thanks for the kind words guys(You both had a Huge impact on the suit)! I think its coming along nicely. I did some more today......My wife is going to take in the arms a bit for me to get rid of some of that bunchiness.....and then its done enough for the kids party. I will make few further adjustments and submit for 501st approval. Hoping to debut this at the Thanksgiving Day parade in Chicago!

Well- Besides the "stand in knees" and a little more weathering to the belt pouches and boots..Finding something to install for that little oval thing above the darts...this is where I am at. Let me know what you think?

    Re: ROTJ Dry Run

You have an awesome ROTJ suit and it fits you perfectly, not to mention those great Boba stances. But there's one thing that bothers me: the chest lower display is much too red around the characters; you might fix this with a piece of tinted plastic.

Thanks guys! I had sent some preliminary pics so i think that helped. They knew I wanted to get it approved so I could bust it out at the turkey day parade in Chicago so I think they got to it quick for that.
