Discussion on Right Esb Gauntlet side bar front light found ???? within the Boba Fett Armor forum, part of the Star Wars Original Trilogy Bounty Hunters category; Hi Guys, this is an official picture buyed at the
FINALLY a new ESB pic!!! It's been a long while since one surfaced. That indeed does look to be a light source.....it's a little too small (the pic) to tell for sure, but indeed seems to be the case.
The intense weathering on the underside of the left gauntlet is certainly more than I would have ever guessed.
Thanks for sharing!

Wow, there is a vast amount of damage on the right gauntlet's underside. Looks like I need to screw up my gauntlet's paint job![]()
Nice photo. Thanks for sharing!
Hi, yes, the left Gaunt underside looks completly different to other pics. Hey but whatīs with the light on the right Gauntlet? ;-)

Our left and rights are being mixed up, correct? Anyways, if you have the reference CD, check out the PP2 and PP1 images. There isn't anything really detailed, but the light is there and you can see it a little better.
Oh wait, nevermind. You're talking about that little bit of Orange on the piece that comes off the gauntlet! I thought you meant the dark retangular shape right above the wrist in the front, with the button on the side.
Nevermind. I've never seen that before. =)

Armor looks to be more of an olive green shade in that pic rather than the spruce or lighter green.hmmm
Very interesting photo of the Lights in the Right gauntlet. I am also excited about another new sequence for the chest lights!

Does it every end, this is great! The real question now that the lights have been discovered is :
a. Is is 2 seperate lights (LEDS) or a light bar.
b. Are they on steady or is there an on/off sequence.
c. Is the lighting sequence individual or sequentially synchornized?
Any ideas on this?
This shot also gives a great look at the inboard black light switch and the forward data port that we've discussed here also. And just to add to all of this, the weathering on both sleeves is a lot heavier than other photos and the left sleeve weathering now shows a tint of yellow similiar to the shoulder bell color. Thanks Boba de Wix you just gave me a few more weekend projects. ha!ha!
Well I think the weathering on the left gauntlet is not 'New' per-say as you can see it in this 'Old' image of Fett in the Bespin Hallway
I think that it was originally thought to be silver/white weathering on the right gauntlet (now we know that isn't so).
From what I can see, it almost looks like three small LEDs

Their does appear to be 3 lights, which kind of makes sense if this is a whip cord aiming device. If I had to speculate it could be kind of similiar in nature (targeting) as the device the predator utilized. But who knows? We are going to an event later this month with Jeremy Bulloch and I might ask him if he recalls if they were 3, if they were solid on all the time, or flashed in any sequence. Just looked at my gaunt and I can install 3 small LED's with little problem.
Wow !!
Great find there guys....The underside of the left gauntlet really got my attention. Until now I always thought the bottom portion of the left gauntlet was a different shade of green all together like the armor. It's just ah good ole' weathering detail !
Thanks guys...building an ESB costume right now for a member..Gottah put that in
Back to the original topic......
That detail on the right gauntlet has always been a mystery to me as well. I used to put that detail in my older gauntlets as a small raised panel detail. Never quit knew if it was a small flat switch or now possibly a light source ?
Anyone care to expand on what that little detail would activate. Perhaps it blinks when all the darts are expelled from the gauntlet and needs re-loading

I hate to play Devil's advocate here, but could it simply be the end of the metal bar passing through that piece of the gauntlet? Could it be painted metallic and with either idea simply shine w/ the camera flash or not if the flash doesn't hit it?
cool find looks like its back to the LED station for me. but after looking at mu guants i have a few questions before i lose my mind and my head explodes.
1. how many hoses go on the right guant.
2. how many on the left.
3.is that black part above the darts supposed to be there (in some pics yes in some no so im a little confused)
4. how much is that bar on the side supposed to stick out. mines a good inch and a half and im starting to think i have more work to do than expected.
can anyone answer my questions? help would really really be appreciated
There is one hose on the top of the right Gauntlet, no hoses on the left. Yeah, the black part above the darts should be on there.
D
You notice that the weathering on the underside of the left gauntlet looks like it could have been from some duct tape that was holding it closed at some point.... like the pre-pro
so somehow i wound up witha green ROTJ right guant. crapples time to break out the dremel. last time i order from him again.
Call me crazy, but does the visor look black or smoky in that top pic, and not green??? Look at the bottom edge near the chin where you can see the back wall through the visor.
Yeah!!! Could very well be!!! I have a hard time believing they would intentionally have a weathering pattern that large & gaudy. Everything else (helmet especially) is very intricate....although the gauntlets always have seemed kinda bland as far as weathering goes compared to the rest of the suit.
