Re: Re-did my armor today!
I also re-did my shoulders and knees yesterday and made 2 of the shin tools... lots of stuff need some work but I am slowly changing a couple of parts on my costume so it will be more ''movie-like''.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Re-did my armor today!
Looking good. :thumbsup You're coming along very nicely. Using a black-wash on the chest armor will dirty it up a bit and compliment all of the detail damage you've done to it. The knees and shoulders look a bit too yellow and could use some orange to make them a little more accurate. All you would need to do is mist them with some orange.
Keep up the good work, you're doing great.

I love the gloves! Are they scratchbuilt?

My old shoulders and knees were way too orange and this time they are too yellow... lol
I'll mist them today with the orange I still have and we'll see how it looks!!

Yep, got some cheap white parade gloves, dyed them gray (sorta blue-gray) and glued (yes, glued!!) pieces of off-white t-shirt on them...
Here is how I did it :
-Dye the gloves
-Cut the pieces of off-white t-shirt material
-Put on a plastic/nitrile glove
-Put on 1 of the dyed glove
-Put some speed-sew glue and apply the pieces of t-shirt
-Repeat on the other side
-Remove the glove (keeping the plastic/nitrile glove)
-Wait to dry
-Some parts are not going to have adhered so, I recommend that you put some more speed-sew glue
-Enjoy!
I might have another pair up for grabs soon!

Looking good. I agree about the yellow parts though.... they're much too yellow. Add some orange and some black washes.

Re: Re-did my armor today!
Well, recently, I had some time on my hands to work on my costume and here is a pic of where I am at right now.

Nice, the shoulders and knees look much better.

Re: Re-did my armor today!
I have a question concerning the back armor... I made my back armor in Sintra and have shaped it the way I want it. My jet packis made out of styrofoam, cardboard and papier mâché... it is very lightweight and was originaly just screwed onto my back armor. I can't seem to find a way to attach my back armor to myself... I have looked at TK-409's site and he talks about a jet pack harness but not about how the back armor is put in place.
Thanks for the help!

Still no answer... :(
My jet pack is coming along and I will need to make everything fit... any suggestion??
Re: Re-did my armor today!
The back armor attaches to the collar armor using the four collar studs to screw it on. If you don't have aluminum collar studs that you could do that with and given the lightweight properties of your armor and jet pack you could possibly just velcro the collar and backplate together and glue the studs on top (use keyboard keys if you're looking to cut costs).
Re: Re-did my armor today!
I have already used keyboard keys for the collar studs...
So, I need to screw in the cape under the collar piece and then put velcro and the collar and back plate so they stick together around my neck... isn't there another place where the back plate would need to hold on to?? With the jet pack on, I won't get strangled??

I guess I'll really need that harness to hold the backplate and jet pack combo...
