The *NEW* FPARMOR - UPDATE - ADDED COD PIECE

    Heya guys and gals !

I needed a quick break from the monotony of my Jango projects. I've been flipping back and forth between Jango and Boba projects anyway, but figured I'd post a little something for the Boba fans for a change, since you're the "backbone of TDH

I took a couple of days and revisited my chest armor last weekend, and before I head out for the holiday I figured I'd take a minute or two to post it up.

The armor has been refined, dent placement, ect. This is true "MoM" style this time around, as many of you know, my first design was based on a combination of AoSW and MoM.

The molds will be duplicated for "ESB" style next week, with the appropriate dent placement mods to reflect this. 2 stlyes will be available, for a change Again, this is a "Preview". This is what "will be" available when I get into the "mode"

As you can see, my playing "Catch-Up" for a year out of commission is coming along. Jango helmet, upcoming Jango Gauntlets, Boba Gauntlets, Armor, ect. It's rough, doing all of this at once practically. So to all those patient members who are still awaiting a response from me, thank you for hangin in there. You can see I'm not dilly dallying So consider this an official "Fettpride Update" while we're at it. It saves me from having to clutter the forum with an unnecessary thread.

Onto the pics !! I hope it meets all your expectations ...

    First .. The "OLD"

    Now, the "NEW"

A few shots comparing old and new ...

And a couple of details ...

First and foremost, compound curves. It's always been there. With the alterations that have been made, it has allowed for more of a concave/
compound curve update, however, you absolutely cannot get too crazy with this, because it alters the frontal/outward appearance (or impression) of the basic shapes that we've all become obsessed with. It's a balancing act

The signature holes on the abdomen plate are now as they should be. Thanks to Brak's Buddy for prodding me to do this Before they were
vacuum formed "impressions" The real holes are drilled clean through, and backed with a piece of styrene to give it a very crisp definition. "As you wish"

I can post more pics later if desired. These were snapped pretty quick. You might note that the shapes of the armor can change drastically from camera angle to camera angle Ya can't make armor from a 2D printout, that's for sure

A couple of final notes. I didn't show it in the pics, but the chest lights cutout is molded into the chest plate this time around. At least an ultra sharp impression of it. An "EXACT" guidline for cutting it out from behind the plate. I trimmed it out because I was in a hurry, and forgot to snap it before I did.

The chest light cutouts are made to the exact "Brak's Buddy" mesurements. So they'll fit your Shackman and Tk-409 lights. I cannot vouch for other lights, but it's time that we all stick with a standard measurment. It's easier for the light makers to make a standard size set of lights, rather tham 10 dffernet armor makers with different sized slots

A gentle reminder that the "REAL" movie armor is Vaccum Formed. Not fiberglass, or resin. Vacuum formed is what is pictured. These will be available in glass as well, but they will look just like what is pictured above. Too crisp, is unrealistic. It has to appear that hot plastic was formed over a mold to feel authentic. So, molds will be made of an ultra sharp vacuum formed set to achieve this. Both MoM, as well as "ESB" versions.

K, onto finsihing up the Jango Molds, and Updated Boba Gauntlets

Thanks again for all your patience in my delayed PM responses. Have an AWESOME 4th of July !!!

    FP

Gorgeous as always, Chris. Who says you can't improve on perfection?

So can I pull a Ripcode and be the first to start the "un-official" wait list? I feel like I've already been on it for 3 years...

Seriously, though...I really didn't think you could get it any better than it already was, but the new tweaks are supurb. Kudos, bro.

Nice work FP. I've been holding out on my armor in hopes of you returning to production, so you can count me in once this gets off the ground. I'm sure you have a PM in there from me in the thousands you have to sift thru. If there's a list. Put me on it.

I am in for sure, price not pending, I don't really care what they cost I have wanted a set for upwards of 5 years and will have one. I don't know if I want a MOM of ESB set since I am doing pre-pro2 I will have to look at which is more accurate toward that but I am in.

Re: The *NEW* FPARMOR - Magic of Myth

Thanks a million everyone ! A very nice reception indeed

There have been many requests for pics of the chest light slots before
they're cutout for some reason, so I'll post one up soon. I'm not at home (away for the weekend) but the pics are on my server, so all I have to do is link it up. But I'll get one up here soon.

Prices won't depend on current styrene prices. At least not at first. Most of you know that styrene is a commodity and the price fluctuates daily. But I still have quite a bit of stock on hand from last year, at last years prices, so this will save us a little

It won't be that bad. It never has been Other members have sold their FPArmor lately for far more than what they are from the maker, so don't let that scare you

Soo much thanks to everyone for keepin the faith, as well as the awesome comments !

Re: The *NEW* FPARMOR - UPDATE - ADDED COD PIECE

Just a small update ... but big I suppose in it's own right

I held off posting the cod until I saw what kind of response there would
be to this, so while I'm at it, here is the *NEW* cod piece.

Although the armor is technically MoM, the cod is AoSW, as the MoM cod piece is a dentless prepro Not that I'm trying to mix and match this time, but the difference in the two exhibit chest armor sets (besides the paint of course) is that the lower dent on the left breast is very tiny on the AoSW, so I chose the bigger dents of MoM in that case. But everything else from this point forward will be AoSW ... confused yet? Don't think about it, just look ...

Ssame drill, comparing *OLD* to *NEW* ...

Since this thing is so hard to take pics of properly (angles with this shape seriously suck) here are a few more pics in different poses ...

    MORE COD PICS HERE

The update is pretty obvious I'm sure. But to elaborate a little bit, the biggest needed change was the , uhm, well let's just say that it's a bit more
ergonomic for your, uhm, COD :LOL The previous version, cupped a weeee too much in an undercut .. (I've never worn my own cod, so It can't be said that Fettpride has since been taking Enzyte or something )

The real cod piece is a more subtle/gentle slope down, and won't "cramp" you style. When you look at the exhibits from straight on, you can see most of the portion of the cod piece in question, rather than it tucking under. Ya know what I mean? Well if not, my apologies, but I'm not going to step into a trap discussing this, it's too touchy, and I'm not THAT mature

The general shape of the cod piece remains the same. It's more refined, with some sharpening of the details, such as the blocks on the side, and the dents.

Hope ya'll like it ... collar and shoulders coming soon ... I'm *NOT* dinking with the back plate though .. it's good as is

Thanks everyone for the continued kind words. Still sifting through the pm box. Seriously, I am. There are quite a few that can attest to that. It's real

It just keeps lookin' better & better, Chris. Half the fun is just listening to you find creative and politically correct euphemisms for "the cod pinch".

Okay, not really. But awesome either way! Can't wait for the shoulders and collar plate!

First, congrats on the new armor! A smashing success. I am VERY impressed with it and can't wait to see a set fully painted!

This may seem like a little thing to a lot of people but I can't tell you how happy I am to see this update made! It is the little details like this that really bring out the perfection!

    Art - Thanks a million bra ! See, I don't forget

Lee - I'm glad you like the armor - can't wait to see it painted up !

Fettswatcop - This is just a preview thread, so I will start a new thread.

I have received a few PM's with some concerns and feel I should address those openly ..

    QUESTION:

    1. "You said the armor is not available yet? I PM'D you about this 2 weeks ago, now I see that <insert member here> got a set? I'd hate to think you're playing favorites up there!"

    ANSWER:

Technically the armor is not available just yet. I still have a few more things to finish up before I can get into "prodo" mode. The reason that Lee received a set is very simple. I owed Lee for some great things that he did for me a couple of years ago. Now that I am in a position to work on this stuff again, it was time take a few extra minutes out of my chaos to keep a promise. One long over due. It's not about favoritism either. There is another member here that will received a set, that is new member, no time in grade. For similar reasons. I do not work that way.

Most of you that know me, know that I am as good as my word, and that it is VERY important to me. In which case I trust that you will understand that however out of order things might seem sometimes, I always strive to be as fair as humanly possible to everyone, equally. So, for the record, in the future, if things appear out of order for some reason, refer here. There is a rhyme and rhythm to everything I do I would appreciate more understanding where this is concerned ...

I don't want to derail my own thread so lets get back to the regular scheduled program shall we ?

Thanks again for everyone's kinds words. I'm back to work now, it won't be long, I assure you. Keep the faith !!!

Good grief? Somebody actually PM'd that to you?!?

Sounds like something one of my kids might have said... when they were like 5 or 6.

FP, take your time and do things YOUR way.

Besides, I'm waiting on the ROTJ gauntlets so what order you do the armor doesn't mean anything to me!

    Your kidding right????
Who ever PM'd this needs to grow a up a bit and learn to wait.
I really can't believe people at times, they are getting more rude all the time and it is not getting any better.

    WOW

I think this person needs to realize that FP is doing this out of his persuit to "PERFECTION" and does not need to offer this to any of us.
We should consider ourselves lucky to have FP back......and
be able to own this armor in the future.
I hope I'm not out of line here.

    Just my two cents.

Yea who ever PMed you that needs to PM you an apology FP. That is some rude ****, even if you were playing favorites, and I'm not saying you are, but you make these things on your own time, you have the right to give/sell them in any order and to anyone you want to. Hell if you wanted to sell to me, and not to some random other person that is your decision to make, and anyone who says other wise can kiss your amazing fett armor making ***.

No back to the subject at hand sweet looking armor, can't wait to see the rest and I am very excited at the idea of rubber knees. My old fiberglass ones have started to crack and I have to reinforce them.

Oh man, I disappear for a few months to get other things straightened out and come in to see some more of FP's incredible work. This definately inspires me to get back to working on my suit that's in bad need of upgrades. Thank you for the time and effort you put into making your stuff a true work of art Chris. I look forward to this going into production mode!

I know, 'ol FP over shot times frames ... again

But the flood gates are just about ready to open

There are some things going on behind the scenes
(as usual) that have me laying in wait to see what
direction it goes. For those of you that may not
understand quite what that means, lets just say that
it usually has something to do with keeping an eye
one someone that may be contemplating taking advantage
    of 'ol FP

But I'm still here, and the armor isn't going anywhere, well
as in no where but production that is

Just a note about the armor that Spidey posted - it's MINE !!
I'm proud to say that Spidey was kind enough to accept ANOTHER
commission job in between life, love, and work ... and every other
crazy thing that goes on in our hectic lives - a HUGE thank you
to him for that ! The Armor looks AMAZING !

Chief - I don't get tired of seeing your new suit man - it kicks some
serious buttocks bro <shutter> this new language thing makes me
    feel kinda funny

Batninja - don't feel that way baby? I still love you ya know?

Thanks to everyone for their continued patience and keeping this alive !!!

Thanks Spidey. Your's rocks man! I didn't get as adventurous as you with actually hand painting the logo... mine's is a decal. Yup, I can actually lay claim to owning the first painted set of FPV2 armor.
