New FP ESB Flamethrower

Over the last few weeks FP and I have been collaborating on a new design for his ESB Flamethrower.
With a ton of seen and unseen reference photos with the help from Official Pix, I think we've put together something that is much closer to what we've all had questions about, IMO.

I will first post assembled pics of the left ESB gauntlet. (pics below)
Then I will post a few of the separated parts of the flamethrower.
and lastly I will post comparison shots with some of the photos used...and only photos we've all seen to date unfortunately.

* With that being said, if there was One clear photo that was out there I personally have yet to see it, and if it did exist you can bet I would try my hardiest to get permission to post it for All.

.... but for now I think what FP has created is a great "interpretation" and a fresh design.

And yes folks, these new flamethrower's (with Aluminum rods) will be in the new FP gauntlet kits that are going out as we speak.

PARTS:

Not shown: The "piano keys do come off"...all four.

And I will be painting this in the next few days to help determine what is painted, and what is not.

Whoa!! That looks awesome guys! I love how with that extra layer, it pushes it off of the gauntlet a little more, keeping it that much farther away from getting in the way of your hand. I can't wait until I have some FP Gauntlets!!

Good point Andy.... that is called a "spacer"

We had to come up with made-up names for each part we were talking about over the phone.

Love seeing all the new components in a pre-assembly mode, it all came together beautifully!

Can't wait to get my kit along with the new accurately sized machined gauntlet rocket with copper tip!

This particular aspect was all old fashioned "best guess" work. It seemed to be the only logical explanation for what's been boggling at least me for years. But it is interpretive and is obviously subject to change if we ever get a good look at the real deal. But thanks man

Spideyfett, any chance you can supply a paint color guide of sorts on this thread after you paint it? I've collected a few ref. photos, but I'd love to see what you come up with.

Hey spidey how bout a cold cast back plate? Just wondering. Cause machining them from alluminum would be very expensive.

Great Idea... I think once the current run on rockets and FP gauntlet kits are done and shipped then we'll revisit it then

...I'm sure it will be sooner than later.

Yea, I am glad I suggested that awesome and wonderful idea. You can just send me a FREE flamethrower assembly and maybe even an FPH and maybe gauntlets if you feel like it to my address...

Forgot to ask: will there be holes for the back wires to be placed in? I didn't see any openings on the gauntlet or the flamethrower.

I like the "Spacer" idea. One problem I always had with my gauntlets was the bloody Flamethrower either rubbing against my hand or snagging me or someone else. Nice work guys.

As promised.... to help give you some Idea of how the FP flamethrower should be painted, here is a painted "non-weathered" version of the flamethrower.

Used:
Krylon Metallic
Model Masters Chevrolet Engine Red
Krylon Satin Black
Krylon Flat White
and standard masking.

I'm considering it. Initially I wanted to try to keep it exclusive to my gauntlets but there seems to be demand. I was mostly concerned with the fit on other maker's gauntlets to be honest. I need to catch up on what I'm doing at the moment as there have been a few set backs already for this month. But I will have to revisit it for March. I apologize
