holding in place your cod armour

    Hi guys.

I am about to buy some new cod / kidney armour and wondered how you guys connect it together and hold it in place when worn.
My current scratch built stuff is held together by elastic at the sides and snaps onto the flight suit when worn.
What i want to do is somehow have an elastic belt which the armour clips onto, so the elastic hugs my body and the armour justs attaches to the elastic.

    any thoughts?

Hey Jon, If you are going in the direction I think you are going I'd ask him how he does his own set as I have been asked the same Qn about those?
The FP stuff has an 'overlap' from the cod over the kidney which can either be connected by a snap and a decorative key/stud...

I used Industrial Strength Velcro on my FPv3. A big piece of "loops" an inch or so in from the end of the cod and another long strip of "fuzz" along the end of the kidney. Because of the overlap, it fits together well and no velcro is seen.

I may end up bolting one side with its respective stud, or I may just opt for velcro only and glue the studs on for looks only (not function) or only bolt them through the cod. The velcro seems to work on its own as of now. The only snaps are on the "thong".

Oh...and right now I only attached it together on the inside with no attachment to the rest of my suit. Maybe it's how I'm built, but if I get it tight enough, it sits in the right place and doesn't seem to move so far.....

I have thought about fixing plastic 'D' lops to the inside edges of the cod & kidney, and the just running the elastic of even a belt through them all. So the armour itself does not play a part in hugging my waist, only the belt would hold everything in place. Does that make sense?
I'm not too bothered abut them tw pieces joining together, I just want to avoid having to attach them the flight suit.

Gav - I ask him tomorrow and let you know

Here's my setup, and it's velcro'd to my jumpsuit.

I like the snaps on the cod connecting the girth belt, great idea. I have just been using the girth belt and ammo belt to hold the cod on by tension, but I think I will eventually go that route with the snaps or other attachment as my belts end up sagging.

Since my BM. armor won't overlap
I'm gonna try MandalorFett's way of attaching it all together .
That looks like the way to go...
