    Gauntlet Types

Hey everyone, this is two questions in one about gauntlets.

    1) Is there any real diffrence between jango and rotj gauntlets?

    2) Who is the best person to go to for ESB gauntlets?

I am gauging what gauntlets i want and trying to figure out what i want, as i have seen a new run on "jango" cruzer gauntlets that i may be interested in. but i still may go for the esb gauntlets. thanks a bunch everyone. the true build is about to begin!!

    Re: Gauntlet Types

the safest assumption is that no part between jango, boba rotj and boba esb is interchangeable.

particularly boba and jango. they look similar on the surface, but when it really comes down to it, everything is different.

    Re: Gauntlet Types

Thanks everyone for the comments. and to respond, this is a quasi custom. i say so because i'm taking elements from jango, esb boba and rotj boba. here's the suit:

    ESB style helmet
    ESB armor
    ROTJ jet pack
undecided on the gauntlets (hinting towards ESB)
    ROTJ flightsuit
ROTJ utility belt and side bags
and the final piece, Jango holsters and blasters, cuz they're just awesome. i will integrate it into the boba suit, and hopefully it won't look TOO bad :P

Just keep in mind that you won't be able to join the 501st with a mixed costume.

3, 3, 1, nice odds...kinda like taking the best out of the 3 and making the ultimate in Mandalorian Armor.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with this setup...keep us posted!

    Stay safe,

    Tim.

    Re: Gauntlet Types

thanks for the compliment tim! I was originally deciding between this and Jodo, and decided on this, since it seemed like it would be more unique. I guess what i'm going for is like a pre-ESB boba, like maybe he kept Jango's blasters until they didn't work anymore or something...lol. not cannon, but what they hey.

Also, i'm going to do this as a cheaper suit to start, and eventually get the good stuff...haha. like my bucket is, unfortunately, just the 'ol Rubies thing repainted, and using Lucksey31's excellent ESB helmet decals. I may even make two different cods so if i choose, i can do the 501st thing, and wear the custom when I'm at a con or something. I'll post some pics of my first bucket painting attempt. it's nothing like painting miniatures....it's hard painting a large thing. haha.

I have an PERFECT DP '95 that i was going to use as my second bucket, but it's a bit small for my head, especially since i have to wear glasses, and it's even harder to get on with the glasses...sigh.

well, sorry i got a bit off topic, but i'm heading out, and i'll be sure to add some pics when i get back home tonight. thanks everyone!!

seems like your in the same boat with me, I'm also doing a custom fett. I'm taking all the best parts I like and making it into one suit. so some boba parts here and a few jangos parts there just so it sorta has a transition feel. Good luck on this.

    Re: Gauntlet Types

Sorry about the poor quality of pics (they're from my phone :P) but all i have left on the bucket is dirtying it up, getting the visor in, getting the antenna painted and in place, and sealing it. It's my first attempt as well, so don't be too harsh :P

any good advice on dirtying it up and visor installment (i prefer NOT to glue it in) would be GREATLY appreciated. Oh, and if anyone know's how to move this to the Saarlac Pitt, please let me know. This is turning into my Fett progress page. also, i may be going with some ROTJ gauntlets that I've found on the bay, for a very reasonable price, nicely painted as well. If they aren't as amazing when i get them, i won't be totally bummed, cuz i know i'll be upgrading eventually too. later guys, and thanks for keeping this thing going!!
