Btw, you have PM regarding shippings...
PP sent for (1) full set with dents in ROTJ style!! Frickin' sweet...
Plz put me on the list for ROTJ when you got the time, thx!!! Sweet armor
Sigh....you had to do it didn't you Chris...now, eventually, I'll need to upgrade.
Other than that, awesome detail on the new armor bro! Love it!
Stay safe,
Tim.
put me one the list please!!! :cheers!
#5:) This is SO sweet! I´d like a ROTJ set please. Thanks for making this a ESB/ROTJ thing!!
You are the man!!;)
Ok, thank you very much for sell parts FP :)
Can't believe I'm #1.... never been #1 on here! :cry (joy)
Really made my year bro and I'd like the full ESB with dents on the knees... :lol
now will await the remainder of the FP treatment! ;) *Does the Joey dance* :fettesb
AAAAHHHH curse my luck while being gone. Please put me down for a set of ROTJ if people actually do drop off the list(a big mistake imo).
just noticed we can choose, ESB for me please. thanks
Is it too late to add me in for an ESB set? Let me know -- I have dough. :)
Wow!
Can you put me down for a set of ESB armor, ready to pay right now???
PM sent. ESB please!
Payment Sent!
Woohoo, ESB for me please, paypal on its way in the next few minutes :thumbsup
And...Paypal sent!
K. Now I'm a little peeved :lol
Because of the dentless knees of mine all these years ... I never paid as much attention as I should have. And add the fact that I've not been a big ESB fan, more of an ROTJ/SE guy. So it didn't matter :lol So even though I feel stupid, it's with explanation :lol
The knee dents. Since no one posted any pics for me :doh, I educated myself last night. Only AFTER I DUPLICATED TEH KNEE VAC MOLD :lol
Prepro 1, Prepro 3, ESB, and ROTJ (Original) all share the same knees ppl ! :lol Why didn't someone tell me !!! FP doesn't know everything, contrary to popular belief :lol
http://www.fparmor.com/v3/kneecompscreen.jpg
So there you have it. The new knee "Menu" is "With" or "Without" dents now :lol
:b
FP
Great to know that...
Well, I personally feel the same... I've always been an ESB guy, so never paid attention to the other ones... but nice to see them compared...!!!
I'd need them WITH dents please :D... (ESB)
And BTW FP... you have PM.. and it's important you check it, cause I cant paid untill you answer it... :$:$:$
Thanks
......
FP... did you mention a new sculpt for the right shoulder bell? in all the excitement I can't remember seeing your comments? ;)
And FP, Does The V.3 Butt go Ok with the V.2 Cod?
THX :fettesb
i'd like to get the dented knees please.
You have to ask your self though, are you making the knees for folks duplicating what they have reference for from the exhibits, because those are not the same knees on the right knee due to them using a pre pro knee. (dent wise) And the dents on all in the film are indeed similar... or almost the same but were all added after the fact so there are tiny human error type differences in them.
Here is a compare of the main exhibits we look at as reference.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...tknee_fett.jpg
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...tknee_fett.jpg
*sigh*
Justin, I know the exhibits are different bro :doh
But what this is about is ... ROTJ or ESB. Period. Not Prepro 1, 2, 3, ESB, ROTJ, ROTJSE, MoM, AOSW .. ect ... There is NO way, I'm making a knee mold for everything we see on print :lol
This discussion, was to streamline what can be reasonalby included with an armor kit, without filling my garage with 50 molds, and taking two more weeks to duplicate molds. Afterall, what "Fett" is all about on TDH is "Accuracy". And I attribute the term "Accuracy", to "Screen Accurate". And that's ESB, or ROTJ. Just so turns out I lucked out, and they're the same, or similar enough that unless we get more reference from ESB, we'll never know for sure. :lol
I have to disagree with this statement. Not that the dents were placed after they were pulled, but that they're not the same pieces seen from film to film. For instance .. the AoSW exhibit.
The Fett on display there, or the Fett that you saw at C4, appears (quite convincingly) that is is in fact repainted ESB armor. Human error considered, the dents on the armor, and knees are indistinguishable from the ESB reference we have available. It's even more compelling, when you look at the prepro 1 and 3 parts (specifically the knees). Totally ESB. And at least one of those knees still exist in my opinion .. on the AoSW display. It occurs to me, that given that there could have been 10 sets of knees at some point, it's funny that in the following pic, we see 2 raw sets. Is it inconceivable to you that they may have made 2 sets and rotated them between concepts and movie versions? Even if there were 3 sets. Remember, they were on a budget. And I seriously doubt they made a ton of anything ... except helmets :lol Fiberglass was cheap.
http://www.fparmor.com/v3/fettparts.jpg
Bottom line, there will be two options offered. With dents, and without. And here is what they now look like .... if you can tell the dents apart from ESB/ROTJ screen worn, then I've failed horribly.
FP
I say go screen accurate. That's the goal I'm always trying to accomplish.
All I was stating is that the way you have it now is "accurate" as the dents were added later on and on each set.
If your going to offer a "pre dented" version then I was addressing that most folks doing SE and that a majority of us go by the exhibits, the pre pro knee is the ugly ducking in the bunch. This would require only one additional or a "third" mold with dents being that the pics show the knees to be pretty much the same through out the screen used pieces.
This senerio dosnt fill your garage with molds by any stretch. I am just adding my 2 cents in. I am not going to assume anything when I show examples of things that we are discussing as that would not lead us to a better prop. It was taking a fresh look at all of this stuff with a new perspective that has allowed it to improve.
So no need for a *sigh*, a :doh or a :lol
All that is needed is a :cheers
Plus, it's very easy to recreate any type of dent on these plastic pieces.
Make a circle of a desire size on a 1 inch thick piece of wood and put the heat gun in front of the circle to heat the plastic. Then take a round object to press the heated section to make your dent. viola!
6 sets that you know of huh? Wow. And, where/who does this information come from? :lol Brak's used to say, that making statements like that should be accompanied by photo evidence. ;)
And yes, there is room for a *sigh* bro. Because I'm seriously busting my hump here. If you want a "third" mold, I'm afraid you're just going to have to make it yourself :lol
Dentless is accurate, yes. Accurate to preproduction. Not accurate to what we see on the screen. What it seems you're failing to see here, is that there are members here who may not have the same skills that you do. So to recreate a reasonable facsimile of what we have grown to know and love, is the point of "Screen Accuracy" in this case. Not all members will dent their armor, exactly the same. Small example ... Two members meet at a con, and one of them likes how the other dented his knees better? That member feels a level disappointment in himself, or envy, and the experience of owning a prop REPLICA is shot down. So if "I" can reasonably reproduce what we see on the screen for EVERYONE alike, doesn't that make the world a happier place?
Again, 2 options .. with, or without dents. The dented version will cover ESB/ROTJ. The undented version will cover the purists, that would rather dent them themselves.
FP
PM SENT >:
yeah...that's news to me..?? Where did that come from? 6 sets.??
How would we even know that for sure??..not that it matters....
But third and second hand, heck maybe by now fifth hand :lol, info from way back when.. is soooo hard to verify.
But I think making the knees universal is the Best option.:thumbsup..with no dents.
Same reason FP took out the wavy brow in the FPH....more options, and that's first hand info right there. ;)..:lol
I'll take my ESB with the dented knees!
I was simply stating my understanding from talking to alot of people and simply by looking at good photography of the different sets. I dont have to back up an opinion, just facts.
And Alex, at one point you agreed with me on that, we have had several discussions on it.
And yes, I agree with you Alex, no dents is the way to go. Everyone can make it what they want to.
I know, I was on the phone with him with you and DM at my house on the sofa when that was decided. ;) I was part of that decision though I felt at the time it should have been less generic. You felt other wise and it ended up being the great helmet we have today, thus the reason we had several great heads together on that project. :lol
It's already done guys ... there are TWO molds. There is a dented mold, and an undented mold. That's it. NO more debate :lol Didn't anyone see the pic above?
FP
ESB Dented knees please. :lol
Didn't disagree with you at all....just don't know where you came up with 6sets that were made?? and no one is asking for proof, but does anyone "Really" know?...or is it just regurgitated hear say? and not actual facts?
And really it's great that FP is even giving anyone the option..:thumbsup
Nuff said... both are correct from an outsider view... who can really say for sure without actually being there? ;)
So as FP says, there are 2 sets 'with' and 'without' lets let the people decide what they want to have on 'their' costume? ;)
FP.. as Seeker says second pic didn't show for me either?
As I said before, some of the info is based on talking to folks and the rest is all there for anyone with 2 eyes and a computer. But it really dosnt matter as we base our suits off of one not any other number. So its mute really. ;) I only stated it as it was part of my belif to the why there are some slight differences.
And we are letting the people decide Mojo.... I like you only know what I read in this thread, and I get my info on this new armor at the same time as everyone else. I was just throwing in my 2¢ as one of "the people" about what I would like to see just like you and everyone else. :D
But I was the only one that got jumped on by FP as though I did something wrong. :doh
Evan - I know you (group) are letting the guys decide bud, I only meant that we all possibly have info on what was and what if's... but by producing the the moulds as FP has, he has given us the choice of having the dents (near cannon or not) or without for those that have knowledge / reference or even the skills to put them in?
No harm - no foul bro... :thumbsup
PM sent Mojo, sorry if I seemed I was coming off rude or anything. :)
FP please, check my PM... still waiting.
Evan - All good bud, PM replied too. ;)
So FP? do you have a pic of that right shoulder bell?
Special event coming up eh? ;) Beginning of the year... hrm...
I saw a teaser poster about 2008 with a Fett helmet on it... a while back. Not sure if that has something to do with your special event, or something to do with a tv show... but I thought I would fan that fire a bit ;P
but your work is friggin awesome!
Thanks Wolfie :o
K guys, back on track. This thread died earlier, and it needs to be revived ... I didn't bust my hump to get you guys these "dents" just to have you bail on me :lol
So, here we go ... fresh ...
http://www.fparmor.com/v3/dents.jpg
http://www.fparmor.com/v3/dents2.jpg
Acceptable? ;)
FP
Chris,
You know I'm in for a set of rubber knees bro..ROTJ please!
Gracias!
Stay safe,
Tim.
Hpw are the sizing on these? I'm about 5' 10" and 185 lbs, would these fit about right for me?
Thats a negative FP, you better just send me a set so I can truly judge for myself. I honestly don't know what we would do without you dedication to your products and us FP. The dents look great to me but I'm just a little behind Spidey ;) in attention to detail.
Deffo would win a knobbly knee contest with those! ;)
Nice work... I'm still in for complete set.
Gav
PP sent :cheering :fettesb
now just the long wait till they come :doh
:cheers FP thank you again for producing all of these wonderful peaces.
Nah, it won't be long at all ... seriously :cheers
About the knee dents ... the left knee (the one with 2 dents) has changed.
I boned the top dent on the rim (in the inset pic). It's too far toward the middle of the knee. This has been corrected. Dag-gum details ! :lol I hate that I even noticed it. I hate that I even corrected it ! :lol I'm addicted to looking at this stuff under a microscope, somebody STOP ME !! :lol
I'll post a pic of it the next time I have a pull of it. The updated shoulder bell coming in a bit.
FP
No saviour here FP... you must suffer the anguish of being a perfectionist? :lol
But thank you for the time and dedication in producing this Armour... Huge thank you! :thumbup
Looking forward to seeing what you had changed on the right shoulder bell.
Gav
FP, can those updated knees be dented ones? If you already had some prepared with no dent, no biggy, but I am going ROTJ all the way so dented would be spectacular. I think the dents rock ;)
Wolfie - got ya covered :)
FP
FP - Have you read my PM?
Hm? I don't recall. My apologies. I'll go look for it and hit ya back in a bit.
Again, sorry about that.
FP
'FP Dent my knees please' I'm going to copyright that phrase right now :lol
Man FP, you're a machine. I will PayPal you this evening.
Any idea about when kits would be getting shipped?
Thanks,
Andy

FP,
PAYMENT SENT ! ;)
ROTJ STYLE W/ DENTS IN THE KNEES PLEASE!!! :cheering
Shoulder bell updates FP?
:lol
Workin on it 8)
FP
No worries.... ;)
hey andy,
i think in FP's first post it said something like the first list of ppl he'd try to get shipped by/around x-mas. and the second list around the 3rd week of january......:thumbsup im sure he will chime in to correct me if im wrong or if things change
but the list is so big idk if thats one list or if it will be divided! lol :lol
FP Paypal sent!!! Merry Christmas to ME!!!!
FP, I've got a quick question. Does the collar in the V3 armor sit flush against the backplate? Or does the back plate slide under the collar a bit?? Any pics possibly??
I'm already envisioning this beauty attached to my vest, and i'm wondering if i'll be drilling holes JUST into the collar for my studs, or the collar AND backplate for the studs. Just curious....
Did you by chance get my PM about shipping?? YOU ROCK!!!
I know there are still a few pics coming, but dang...I'm really impressed with all the pics of the new stuff!! I dunno if my opinion counts for anything, BUT, IMO...Fp is the the "premeir" set of amrour in the Fett world!!! Wonderfull stuff!!!!
D
Wow, thanks a bunch Damian :o AS well as everyone else for their kindness. It means a lot.
Lucksy - the backplate slides under the collar, up to 3 inches depending on a person's size and how they trim it for their build. Your studs will go through both "accurately" ;) I'll try to get a quick pic tomorrow.
Gavin - The old shoulder bell mold - gave me a headache. Pitched it, and started sculpting a new set :lol Those bells, as with the chest armor ... are MUCH more curved/curled than ppl think. The V.2 bells just didn't have it. Therefore, the ESB dent, just wasn't fitting right. T'was easier to just start fresh, like I did everything else. Why not ? :lol I'll have a vac'd pull to show by tomorrow sometime ;)
Andy - sets will start shipping as early as NEXT WEEK ;) The delivery before Christmas was for the first half. That is, the first half of the list on page 1 :lol If I can get more out, I certainly will.
I'm burnt. Gonna go get unconscious now :cheers
Thanks again guys,
FP
Man... why're you doing this to me Chris.... this is KILLING me... ughh.... :lol
May have to seriously consider selling V2 to fund V3... man... thought I was done after selling V1 to fund V2.
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Andy. PayPal sent. However by PayPal says it will be cleared on the 11th.
FP PM sent.
I didn't make the sought after list:cry. Any drop out let me know.:doh
:)PM sent. :)
Chris,
Payment sent, pm sent for shipping cost.:cheers
Would these be shipped here (up North) for Xmas?
if not no worries!! just to have a ESB set (w/dented knees) is all I ask! woohoo!!
Hey FP....PM SENT...Bro!:thumbsup
Hey Chris, any updates yet buddy? :)
Gav
fettpride, could you please check your pm's and get back with me. thanks appreciate it.
PP sent! All I need now is the shipping cost;)
Oh, and I´d like to get ROTJ and knees w/dents please:)
Thanks, FP!
As a matter of fact ... ;)
Ok guys. Unfortunately we just had our first delay. Shoulder bells. They dominated my sorry butt for the last 5 days. And I was sick to boot :lol
So I didn't get much of anything else done. For that I apologize. to those that have impending shipments, I also apologize. I will be utilizing the next 3 days to catch up on those orders. No further delay. But the armor orders are going to get hit a little bit over this. I may not be able to get quite as many out before Christmas. But I will do my BEST anyway. I might surprise you. Realistically I figured I could get 10 out before then. I think I should still be able to do at least that. Hopefully with what I'm posting, you might feel that it's worth the small delay for me to pay attention to one last detail for you guys. Every time I thought I was done, I made a temporary mold (part of the process of making a vac mold) and then noticed something still wrong, and do it again. I did this 6 times ! And, I have pictures to PROVE it :lol
I would have never thought, in a million years, that I would let myself get enveloped in trying to perfect lousy shoulder bells to the extent that I did :lol They drove me 10 ways to crazy. Are they geometric? Are they Angled? Are they round? Grrrrrrrrrrrr .... the photo reference indicates one thing, video indicates another. And thanks to Spideyfett, I was able to confirm what I feared was true. And that is, they're a little bit of EVERYTHING :lol
Until now, anyone I know that makes these things (myself included) have taken a 2 dimensional approach to them. Six sided, and barely con-caved in contrast to the screen worn. They're almost ridiculously compounded in just about every direction, yet they still have angles. Most of what shows up in photo reference are the angles. That in turn, throws us way off. I've always known there was something wrong with my bells. They look pretty good straight on. But to the right, or left of that, or any other angle or direction, they lose it. Now I understand why :lol So not to try and make a big deal out of something so small, here goes. Love them, or hate them ... they are what they are. And remember, if you like them, you saw them here first :lol
It should also be noted, that the dents are different from the V.2 as well. When I get a free minute I'll post what the dented bells for each version look like in comparison to the new. I didn't have any movie specific dented bells at the time of the pictures. Just a plain bell. What I can say for sure, is that the ROTJ dents are MUCH, MUCH more shallow. They're barely impressions in the plastic. As it is on the real suit. The ESB, well, the main blast dent on the right bell, is still up to interpretation because of lack of reference (sorry guys). I can see some detail inside the dent, but not all of it. Sometimes the big blast dent looks huge, sometimes it looks smaller. I split the difference. I hope you like my "interpretation" :lol
First the plain bell comparison between old and new. Looks pretty harmless, right? Pretty close between the two, right?
http://www.fparmor.com/v3/bellone.jpg
Nuh, uh. :b These things appear to be around the same size as the old, but they're not. They're huge !, They "wrap" around the shoulder, literally. So this explains why in some pics, they appear flat, with straight angled lines, and some, they appear almost bulb-ish. I was never able to match up my bells to the following angles ... this time, at least I got close :lol

There is one other updated detail that I will post later this evening. Then, I'm out for 3 days of catch up. Then this weekend, it's kicking armored butt.
Thanks to everyone for their patience !
FP
Glad you feel better..and we are all in good hands with you.
Nice updates on the bells. what a difference!!!
Holy MOLEY!! :suprise
Good work on those shoulders bro!
Great job FP!! I can't wait until my set comes in!
wow, i never thought i'd be impressed by a shoulder!
Thats some great comparison work there, FP. Love the new knees and shoulders. Wish I could order those from you right now but I still haven't started on my V2 set yet and can't justify buying both V3 AND the FPH at the same time. At least now I know what I'm looking for in details so thanks again.
Those new shoulders are a definite improvement...
and maybe I'm late in noticing this...but seeing the complex curvature on the new Boba chest pieces I now think Jango's armor has direct lineage to Boba's. Jango's armor has a very similar curvature to what you sculpted there, FP. Obviously Jango's is not an unmodified direct cast off of Boba's, but it could be a trimmed version of Boba's armor.
I believe this as well. The "Buckethead" video confirms it to an extent. Jango pre-production, showed a left gauntlet with the calc pad spot on it, as well as an obvious soft detail "boba" right gauntlet. The chest pieces appeared to be "boba" as well. They most likely "modified all of those castings to fit the new "millennium" look they were shooting for. And the chest pieces, well, there's no reason they couldn't have just simply been trimmed. I took one of my plates recently and trimmed it to match the screen cast jango plate that I have. And sure enough, it was doable. About a half inch all the way around, and of course changing the shape in the process. If I can find it in my "pile" out there, I'd be happy to share it.
But what's MORE important to me as a "Boba" guy in all this Jango talk ;) , is where exactly did they get the castings of the "Boba" parts anyway? Personally I can't see that they would have spent time re-inventing the wheel and re-creating those parts. Even 3d scan like they did the ROTS Vader bucket. So does that mean they cast a couple of archive items? And if so, that could mean there ARE molds of the armor floating around ;) I think about this scenario all the time :lol And what about the jet pack? Good grief lucy ... it makes me tingle a 'lil bit :lol Unfortunately though, it's been said that when they wrapped up production for Episode II, that most of the molds in the prop dept. were destroyed. Not sure how reliable this is. You can never be sure of anyone these days.

Great updates FP.. bells looking really good! :thumbsup
Cannot wait to get mine...:)
