6'1" 250 on a good day. This was before I fixed my vest. It fits much better now.

The girth belt and ammo belt help quite a bit with the protruding gut syndrome. You could also get a cinch from your local drug store for about 20 bucks. That may help too.

I might also fall into the 'hefty' category, but I refuse to wear my costume until I lose a few pounds. It's important that everything fits properly, and doesn't stretch over your body.

Not a proud pic, but this is one of the last times I wore the costume:

Also, and this is a pet peeve of mine concerning Fett costumers, is that there should be a neck. The helmet should not sit directly on the collar armor. This can be achieved, even for those of us without necks, by adjusting the helmet liner, and making sure the collar armor is snug on the vest.

BN...I agree with the neck comment. Mine appears that way because that was the first time I had everything on. By my first outing, I had everything sitting the way it should, and I had a neck.

I'll have a custom done for November, so I won't be innacurate or anything, but I'd really like to drop a few pounds so when I have a Fett wearable I won't be Boba Fatt. Oh, and I'm about 5'8" and 225 lb. I'll need to get out into the battlefield a bit more often and stop hanging around the base with the free donuts.

    I'm about BatNinja's size proportionally.
I am actually working on some armor designs that are slightly oversized to compensate. Will post pics once I have them painted. Essentially about 2 inches greater area over each armor piece.. PS Buckeye how exactly did you "fix" your vest?

Im built like that too. I'm 6ft 2** pounds. I carry all my weight in my gut ( why have a six pack when you can have a keg ) and my big noogin. I do not look my wieght cause I carry it well. Anyway I am debateing on waiting to makeing my suit or just go ahead and make my suit ( give me a little more insentive in my weight lose splurge I am on ATM ). I might go ahead and just make mine oversized anyway, it would be hard to build and not wear.

    Re: FAT Fetts

I had to sew an additional strip of velcro diagonally across the bottom of the vest to get it to close a little tighter around my gut. It looks a lot better when it closes correctly.

well, i did the online version, which is a LOT cheaper than the meetings, and doesn't involve being the only guy in a room full of women

but the parts that really worked well for me weren't really even WW specific. logging everything i ate, and all the exercise i got, weekly weigh-in, and posting weekly updates in livejournal/myspace/etc...

so the part about weekly progress is a really good idea! start up a myspace group or something... bubbafett... and we can all check in weekly.

my initial goal was 170, so i'm REALLY close now. i'll actually probably go a bit lower since there's still some squish that could stand to go away. when i started, 170 seemed reeeeaaaaallllly far off. now i'm thinking 160 seems more like it.

but seeing as i just had to get a medium vest from batninja, i'd say it has been working well.

It takes real men to talk about the pesky pudge.

The Myspace group sounds like a great idea! Of course that means I'll have to actually join Myspace.

    Re: FAT Fetts

Well the truth of the matter is I've been dieting for the last month and a half in order to get in shape for a physical fitness test next month.

Like Turo, I am 5'6" and used to weigh around 177 lbs., but now I'm around 164 lbs. and love'n my shrink'n gut.

I do a slimfast shake and a glass of oj for b-fast, a salad for lunch, and a sensible dinner. I snack on dried fruit and nut mix in between when I get hungry and for energy for my workouts. And I cut out the sodas and now only do juice or water.

Plus, hitting the gym at 4:30 a.m. weekdays and co-coaching the Cross Country team at our school and running at least 4 miles everyday with the kids doesn't hurt either.

    So guilty as charged!

    I'm in for posting!

I'm doing the diet were I eat at least 6 times a day. very small fist size portions. I drink tons of water and coffee. for every 4 glasses of water I drink a day, i treat my self with a cup of coffee. I dont drink soda or anything carbonated. I stay away from anything that has sugar.

    Re: FAT Fetts

Sounds good Turo! What's up with the coffee? You know it's a diuretic right, basically dehydrates your body. And the natural sugars (fructose) in things like fruit are good energy sources...I think anyways.

Do we have any nutritionists here on the boards?

I need to loose as much as I can and gain as much strength and cardio endurance as possible. Here are the fitness goals I'm shooting for and events I'll be tested in:

    Sit-ups: 50 in one minute
    Push-ups: 55 untimed
    300 sprint: 45 seconds
    1.5 miles: 10 minutes

    Clones unite!

I gotta get back into shape now that the temps out here have come down from dangerous levels. When I lived in Baltimore, I once got my bike all the way up to 40 mph ... it would be cool to try and do that again!

Well, I signed-up guys. I am in the 5'-6" group, and while I am a little over the current standards, I feel my goal is certainly attainable.

Any insight, and exercise tips would be a great add!

I've been riding my bike, while it has been sporatic, it has also helped a bit. I have been fluxuating around 178-182, but definately want to get down to 160 or so. Like Turo though, I'll gladly trade some muscle mass for my soft mid-section.

I signed up in the other thread, but I though I would weigh in here too. (Bad pun intened. )

According to the chart at the doctors office, I am considered borderline obease. At 5'-10" and 237 lbs. I am 57 lbs. over the "ideal weight" for a 5'-10" male, which is 180 lbs. That chart is a load of ****. It does not take into accout body type and mussle mass. As a stocky guy, I carry my weight very well, and with a 48" chest there is no way in heck I will ever be 180 lbs. I can definately loose some weight, and get rid of my gut, but my goal is 220.

I strongly agree with that right there. In high school I was able to leg press 700 lbs and squat 8 rep @ 405 lbs ... my legs really bulked up and are the prime reason why I'd be considered overweight.
Gator ... I'll second what Turo said: you done a great job with that right thre, and it looks great on you!

I am 5'7-5'8. A year ago I weighed 213. Today I weigh 167. Weight Watchers and Exercise helped me lose all that weight. I lost about 40 lbs in 4 months and 46lbs overall so far. I don't think I can lose much more weight as my body is already pretty muscular and there's not much fat left to lose.

Yes, ancient scholars maintain that the "chart's" origins are hidden in myth and legend. Ancient historians agree that the chart most likely surfaced during the height of the Roman Empire. It then decided that it would stick around, like the plague, and later would be lost in the sands of time. Ten years ago, while on a dig in the Detroit desert, the chart surface again and now insists to hang in doctors offices and it has even made its way into the text books of our young childrens schools!

    Gator

Dont stress that weight stuff. Im 6 foot at 186 ,and if you ask the Army I can gain 9 more pounds and then im over weight. Im a sexy beast the way it is, and another 9 pounds will only help. So to me weight dont matter!!!!!!!!
