darth_schröder´s first ROTJ airbrush challenge WIP

Hi fellow mandos,

this is my first attempt in painting something by airbrush. After some nasty things about the brush and me it didn´t looks bad at al (i got colored hands, but won the battle).

The armor is from BM. I used humbrol paint and maskol liquid and airbrushing in layers.

And of curse, i used evan´s stencils:thumbup:thumbup:thumbup (Thanks evan)

This is how it looks like without weathering. More to come, in the next days.

I have got to say that looks really good

It's looking really good.Can't wait to see it finished.

I´ve added some new pics.

The armor is oversprayed with a darker green, now it looks more accurate, i think. The green is in original darker then on the photo!

The shoulders are sprayed in layers with yellow, and two different reds. Only the decals and the weathering and it will be complete. 8)

I like the spray booth... looks just like mine? in fact... hold on! it is mine.... JK

Only thing I would say... is that it still looks very clean (not including the damage - which is great) needs some over sprays with a grimy grey and maybe some earth tones on some of those hard wearing areas?
Are you intending a wash to bring all the colours together?

Update with some weathered pics of the armor. I used grey and black separate and in the mix as wash.

Altho I'd try and blend the left breast plate a little in that dark spot?

Finished! After some layers of satin varnish my new armor is ready to wear at this weekend at the jedicon in düsseldorf.

To fix the back to the collar, i dremel a whole into the collar blox and glue a screw into it. Under the collar i glued the nut. It´s a comfortable wearing feeling. Much better than my old armor.

It´s a good feeling done this by my own8)

kein Reitershop in der nähe? Der Girth ist ein Bauchgürtel aus dem Reitsport, brauchst nur noch zu färben
