Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups
Here we have Cupluvs set of FP armor and his MOW gauntlets done up ESB style.
This is some top quality gear, and I really enjoyed doing these paintups and assemblys. Not too fun trimming the armor, but after that it was all pleasure.lol
I may need to trim a little more off the edges of the chest and ab plates, now that I look at it more. They look just a bit to thick, unless cupluv is happy with it as is then i will leave it be.
Major Kudos to FP, and MOW for their unbelievable talent and artistry.their gear is always smooth, clean and extremely easy to work with.
also to Scott (Lucksy31)for the awesome decals as usual.
I do not know who did the machined parts, but they are top notch!!!I am extremely impressed with the gaunt darts.
I took the liberty of taping the armor to my vest and paired it with my ESB bucket for a few pics to get the collar attached just right, and to get the full effect.
I will soon be recieving MOW's new pack to paint for Cupluv as well as his soft parts, so their will be more to this thread in the future.
Enjoy,

Re: Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups
I really hope that I can get you to paint my armor. That is just amazing!

Re: Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups
anyone know the thickness of that material (is it sintra komatex e3tc etc??) i really like how beefy it looks!
-
Re: Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups
The FP armor is made of styrene. I would guess about .090. It looks thicker because of the rolled edege and the way it trims. It is light weight and about as accurate as you can find. I have a set and I love it! :cheering

Re: Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups
m thinking its the rolled edges of everything that give it such a thick look.
i REALLY like that... very believable as ARMOR.
he sell those sets unpainted by chance? ?? =)

Re: Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups
Sweetness! Jeff, you are the master or disaster!
-
Re: Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups

Re: Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups
Ok y'all saw Cupluvs MOW gauntlets already , but I recently replaced the resin parts on the left gaunt for an Evolution Flamethrower, and a Russrep missile,as well as a machined backplate(again, not sure who made it).
I had to relocate a couple of the holes to accomodate the new parts, but it all worked out.lol
Enjoy,

Re: Cupluvs FP armor, and MOW gaunt paintups
I got all of my stuff yesterday...Christmas in July..... (really)
:thumbup WOW :suprise
:thumbup Fantastic:suprise
:thumbup Off the Hook :suprise
:thumbup Awsome :suprise
:thumbup The Bomb :suprise
:thumbup insane :suprise
Not enough adjectives to describe what I'm looking at.
Armor: fantastic work on the paint job. especially the knees. Since my paint skills and time are limited this was money very well spent. Jeff also put a tint filter on the chest armor for the my TK409 chest display...attention to detail..very nice
Gauntlets: painted and put together nicely. The alum makes all of the difference in the world and complements Wickedbeards artistry. I'm just in awwww
Alum Missile--Russ Repp
Alum Darts--Russ Rep
Alum Flamethrower--Evolutions (eBay)
Jet Pack: What a combination. MOW's VII jetpack is tight. Lines are crisp and the back cover just adds a complete look. MOW is WOW...The paint job is just awesome. I swear this thing is looks real.
Alum Beacon and Stabilizer--Serenity
Alum Thruster end caps--Evo
Alum Greeblies--Evo
SOFT PARTS Weathering:
Jumpsuit: You would swear I was working under the Slave I changing the hyper fuel filter. LSFU suit is so grungy. Another perfect combo (LSFU & WickedBeard)
Vest, Neck seal, pouches: Another LSFU masterpiece. All weathered nicely. WB took some of the sheen out and looks nice and dirty.
Gloves: Made by Galactic Bouty Hunter and very accurate. Now they look like I was holding an oil filter. Not too much, not to little just the right touch of weathering
Ammo Belt: A nice 99Taco belt (glad I got one before he retired) and some nice weathering add to the distressed look.
Boots: Evolution has filled the gap the CAboots left open. These boots are extremely light and the weathering just makes them look oh so sweet. Russ Rep on the alum boot darts. The test of time for the boots is a few troops...If they last then Evo is the man and highly recommendable.
I choose Wicked Beard for his painting skills. I have seen other artist on TDH and they all paint very well. Wicked has a special talent were he makes armor that looks like its been in battle. I know everyone has their own version/opinion of what the perfect Fett looks like. In my Fett world I was looking for screen accuracy (not too obsessive with it), but more important I wanted my Fett to look like I was in battle. Nothing gives more authenticity in a costume then the correct weathering....not too much...not too little. Wicked Beard strikes the balance between the two.
Reasons To Commission Wicked Beard
--very talented artist
--very reasonable prices
--informative communication
--alternative to fiberglass/resin armor
--he is very cool dude
:cheers
