I wanted to try my hand in making these, but I just want to know the diameter of the circle. After that, I'll just scale everything according to some ref. pictures.
If anyone knows, I would appreciate the info.
Thanks,
Ely

i remember a post with exact images .... i try to search
i found click here http://tdh.prop-planet.com/viewtopic...c=4005&forum=4
Thanks secol. I'm going to make a vector image of the emblem as close as I can to the MoM pics. That graphic from the link came out to be 1.84" round. Is this the right size?
It seems too small to me. What do you guys think?
Ely
Way too small. By my calculations using a known scale reference, it is either 2" or 2-1/16" in diameter.

*Eyes wide with exictement* OOh, OOh. Ely is making more stuff, Ely is making more stuff.
Form an orderly queue, people.
Let us know how it goes, dude. If they're any where near as good as the skulls, you'll have a lot of people interested I'm sure.
Any idea on timescale and price?. I gotta get me some o' those bad boys. Your work rodks, dude.
Si
Thanks BF, I'll probably make both sizes just in case
. . . and Han Hunter. . . soon very soon
Ely
I will be waiting too.![]()
Count me in!![]()
Here is the outline of my digitized emblem on top of the ref. pic I used. The circles don't match because I made them symetrical (unlike the one in the pic.)
I'm thinking of doing a clean version, and maybe a weathered one, I'm not sure yet.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
This picture got stretched, but hopefully you get the idea
![]()
Thanks,
Ely
Lookin good there VashDstampede.
A weathered one and a clean one would be cool, gives people a couple of options.(like the ROTJ and ESB shoulder decals, which are simply Awesome)
Be sure to keep us updated on this project.(we are also very interested)
![]()
OK, here are some test prints.
I'm still working on how to make the weathering look better.
This is a tough one, but hopefully I will be able to do it.
I'm also going to fix the registration on this so that no white around the blue will show and that the wheat fits exactly. The last one was sprayed after printing with an almond spray paint.
Any suggestions, especially regarding color ( I think the blue should be darker)?
![]()
I also think the blue should be darker. Hope you do both a clean and a dirty version but I think the weathering sjould be done as you paint and weather the chest armor.
The blue on the ref. pics look a little more on the purplish side, I think the weathering is what makes it dark.
Maybe I should just make it slightly weathered (as in the last picture) to make room for more of your weathering, once you put it on the armor. Any more suggestions?
Man, they look really good!
Si
Lookin' good, keep us updated!!!

Really interested here too! Keep the posting going!
Robert
OK, I think I'm going with this route (first picture) for the weathered version. You'll have to add your own weathering with spray paints, I made a sample at the end using black and almond paints. I have also mixed a new blue, which I haven't printed yet. I will post pictures of them when I get the finals done.
How do they look?
![]()
That looks Awesome Vash.![]()
Very nice work.
Really Looking forward to seeing the Finals.
Keep us posted.

I think it's looking great VD. I like the way the first picture is slightly weathered.
great work!
Thanks everyone.
It took me a while to figure out how to make the markings as close as possible to the original, but I think the transparent grey on top of the clean version (first pic) turned out pretty good and when misted with the other colors, it comes pretty darn close to the reference pics. I will try to get the final samples done tomorrow
Ely, you've surpassed yourself yet again.
Let us all know when they're gonna be ready.
Si
WW nice job ... looks fantastic
OK, here are the final pics of the emblems I made (some of the registration is still a little off, but not too bad)and the blue is just a hint more purple than the picture. The first is the clean version, the second the weathered version (don't mind the reddish smudge on the bottom, it's not on the decal), third is the weathered version with black & almond mist plus additional yellow weathering (just compare with the original and you'll figure out what I'm talking about), and of course the fourth is the ref. picture I used.
What do you guys think?
By the way, thanks secol_FETT for the image hosting![]()
Once again man, those are awesome.
Especially like the weathered one (second pic).
![]()
A definateto the third one.
Man that third one is amazing![]()
Definitely the third one, dude. It's SO accurate!
Nice work
Might they shortly become available? if they were to be, what might the cost including shipping to UK be? Just wondering, of course, hypothetically......
Si
Looks fantastic! I guess you already knew that.![]()
I like both the second and third. The second gives you the chance of weathering it along with the armor.
i second that

great work
Thanks again everyone:o
I would love to give these away like the skull decals. . . but the colors and time involved in making them especially in small numbers is just too much.
But If there are some interest in them, I will offer them up for $4.25 clean and $5.00 weathered (grey + maybe mustard weathering) shipped (places outside the US, I'll have to check the shipping prices first).
I'm not sure if this is too much, after all you can just print them out from your computer.
But for you who really don't have the money, I will offer some up to you guys when I get a few out there
So I guess this is now an interest thread. . .
Looking great VS! Love em!
Stay safe.
Tim.
Good news, bad news, good news. . .
The good news: I think I've mixed a color for the blue which I think is very close to the blue in the picture on the reference cd
Bad news: I've already printed about a dozen with the blue/purplish color
Good news: If this project is a go and a few people want them, they will get both decals with each of the blues.
Ely
You know how I feel . . . I'm definitely in bud!
Jer
Ditto I'm in too..just keep us posted I'll buy a couple when you give the word.

Just me but you can probably use the blue/purplish decals for a custom Mandalore. I'm pretty sure the custom guys, including me, wouldn't mind using it.Custom Color, Custom Decal.
Stay safe.
Tim.
I'de be intersted in a set, but I would like to see the size comparison with FP's armor -vs- a MOM or or AOSW ref pics to be sure of the proportions.
Ely, definitely THE THIRD ONE. But if anyone have the chance to weather it themselves, they could choose number 2.

As of me...REALLY INTERESTED in a pair of these babies!![]()
Robert
Ely, they are so great. If this is an interest thread, I'm definitely interested!
I do need to know the price first though. Sorry about that, but my second baby is less than 4 weeks away and every penny counts at the moment.
I could have chosen a better time to start this hobby, but I've never been too good at being patient!
LMK when you figure out the shipping costs.
Si
****!!!! count me in for sure.
personally i would prefer it to be unweathered. i would like to do the weathering myself so it matches better with the rest of the armor.
either way i am in!!!
Even though I have no armor, I still want two. Those are too cool to pass up.
might as well count me in too. Thanks.
Again good news, bad news. . .
Good news: I'm glad there is enough interest for me to make a run and this project is a go. . .
Bad news: I had my screen ready to go, and leaned it up against the other screen used for detailed prints I had just washed at work. I asked my little brother to get me something from the screen room, and a few minutes later he called me in there and he had "accidentally" ripped both the screens![]()
These were $200 dollar silk screens, not only that, but they were the only two of that kind that we had.
Needless to say, the printing of the ones that have the closer blue, won't be done for a while (maybe a week or so) until I get these re-screened. Again don't worry, this project is still a go![]()
I will post a sign up list soon.
By the way, the diameter of the outer circle is 2.062"(2-1/16") If the size is wrong, this is the perfect time to let me know so I can make changes
Thanks,
Ely
I'm in once you re-screen the closer blue ones.![]()
I want one or a couple.

I can't believe that kind of stuff happened!!!Specially when Ely was so close!!!
But let's calm down everyone, and If we could somehow help Ely with this ( I know I will). I think he'll appreciate it as much as we do when we get our hands in at least one of these babies. (Just a suggestion). By the way, I know he won't let anybody down on this now.
Robert![]()
No worries everyone, I just bought a new screen and I should start printing up a few on Monday. I got a smaller size screen for a pretty cheap price, and it's my own, so I can use it without having to wait until a job comes up so I can 'sneak' MY projects in.
I'll make up a sign-up thread when I get some printed, just in case another "accident" like this happens again.
By the way, I also re-did my positives so that the blue would be totally flush
Do you guys like the mustard colored weathering, or should I just print the grey?
Ely
Very nice; count me interested!
Hey Ely.
Glad you got a replacement screen!
I think if you are going to put weathering on them, you should include the mustard, as it looks to be a good colour match and excellent positioning.
Would it be possible to do an unweathered version too. I can't decide if I want to weather it myself or not.
Si
Would be interested in this as well.
Mardon
I would be interested in a couple as well
Ely...that's awesome news!I'm interested in 2 weathered. Mustard sounds OK with me.
Robert
