Work in Progress Casting a Glenross

Hello all Just wanted to show you a method for casting a Glenross, and to the Legendary bloke(s) waiting patiently thanks,

1st up, pic of the copies, that i keyed into a silcon putty mould. got about 2 pulls from a mould before it would tear (around the ball center undercuts)

my sd card has pooped itself, so i have only a couple of pics that i was able to retrieve, so next if you can imagine below pic all pink and green, ive sprued the glenross copies to 3mm sprue wax and a sprue core.

When i do another run, ill retake the pics.

so next i lute to a muffle plate and then place the muffle wall over the plate, then pour in the choclate thickshake Phosphate bonded precision investment material, got about 45 seconds of vacuum mixing then about 45 seconds to vibrate in to remove the air bubbles ect before it sets. i wait an hour or so for it to dry then, i then place it in the furnace and let it come up to heat take around 4-5 hours to get up to 1050C so the crucible looks White hot (hot enough for the saftey gloves to catch fire :wacko, sorry that pic is gone too.

next i place the CoCr (chrome cobalt)sprue off cuts (usually goes to waste) and new metal ingots into the automatic casting machine, preheat the metal, then transfer the white-hot crucible into the casting machine quickly as everysecond out of furnace its losing heat and then melt metal, hit the cast and it injects the molten metal into the crucible/muffle under vacuum.

take out the crucible/muffle and let it sit for an hour or so to cool, and deflask, sandblast and presto flowers anyone!

ok so next ill have to trim them and compare beside the real one, again sorry bout the pics off to buy an sd card.
