So my nice sunny day just turned into this, I think I'll pack everything inside and finish painting another day![]()
aww man that sucks i know how u feel, where i live it can be sunny for a bit then a whole bunch of wind will come along and blow dust at ur newly painted stuff.
Good job so far. Are u just doing the top halfs?
I'm doing the whole thing, the rest is still silver and waiting for good weather.
AWWW quit your complaining guys!!!! At least you don't have to worry about your paint freezing up or getting snow all over your stuff when you spray!!!Nice start on those gauntlets btw

You've got a point man. I lived in Minnesota for a short period of time so I know what you mean. Today was the warmest day in a while so I decided to try to paint some. Last week was in the teens to the negatives and I didn't get a whole lot done. Oh well. I'll get it done sometime.
Added the left gaunlet led. Sorry bad pic.
Looking good D509!![]()
Thanks man. More pics tomorow.
Well, I'm not going to post pictures of this because it's gross. But last night I should have just gone to bed instead of busting out the dremel. I was working on a piece to hold my flamethrower nozzles together when the dremel slipped and cut deep into my index finger. Blood everywhere! But let me tell you, I'm sure glad I had some superglue in my toolbox next to me! Works like a champ on cuts.
you should know better than to bust out the dremel while Fear&Loathing in Las Vegas is playingOriginally Posted by digital509

seriously glad you are ok.
Here's the flamethrower attached without the bottom and the nozzles just sitting in there.
This was after the movie, but before the chocolate milk and toast.Originally Posted by Gonzo Fett

I've done that before too. Works better than a Band-Aid. Glad you are OK though!![]()
what did you use as ends on your flamethrower nozzles?
Coaxial connectors which you can get from Radio Shack:Originally Posted by Kivas

keep it up!!
cool work digital! keep it up!
had a minor mishap while working on the left gaunt. the silver paint marker i was using "exploded" while i was doing some detailing, there's now a little more weathering on the flamethrower then planned. just about done tho, pics in the next couple days. i hate working full time.
I live somewhere at the south, where it's usually sunny. it's really rare to have rain at where i live, about 5-6 showers per year, if that's a long time. thats why i love rainy days. I guess i'm lucky!Originally Posted by bigsexyc420
Couldn't sleep. Wired up the nozzles with some super bright LEDs.
The right gauntlet is wired up for a RC RF. I'll take pics when the install is clean.
Oh yeah, and speaking of the RC RF, if anyone has found a site with a good servo for the helmet (other than what's already been discussed) please let me know.
very very cool!!!!!!
WOOOW that lightup-flamethrower looks awesome. Played around with that idea too, but did choose against it. Now I see what I am missing...
Sweet lookin so far. I love the LED flamethrowers. That's some nice work.
I just got my ruffkin guants today...is there any tutorial online for putting these things together? I kind of understand most of it through some of these threads...but didn't know if anyone did a step by step.

I just looked at some of the other threads for visual reference, that's about it.
nice job on the flame throwers. i've thought about doing that too, and now i'm REALLY thinking about it.
Hm, great pics. I should be getting my gauntlet kit in 1-3 months.
I hope it isn't hard to put them together, considering I have no experience.
still though, great pics of your gauntlets
