2nd armor set (updates now in last post!)

This first post is now going to be where I up my new pictures.

UPDATE!!

So I haven't been able to finish my vest but it's close. I need to weather it and possibly dye it. But I've got my chest, ab, and diamond armor attached so I thought I'd try my stuff on. Alot of my stuff isn't finished and doesn't have the correct way to attach them yet but most of this will be done this week. In the picture I didn't have my RF on my helmet at the time and on my gauntlets I didn't have my flamethrower attached yet. I have gloves on the way. I already have my cape but didn't have any way to attach it yet. Be kind as this is just a test fitting hahaha.

p.s. the shoulder bells and collar were held on by tape and kept falling off when trying to take the picture haha.

quick update on what I'm doing now. I'm working with the cod right now. kind of a pain to get the right shape but it's working out not too bad. It's heavy cause of how thick the styrene is but it'll be nice when it's done. heres what I have so far.

My only suggestion, and I'm definitely no expert, but doesn't the two rectangular pieces have fileted edges?

Yea they are. I'm going to be doing that today. I just wanted the main area done.

update 10/12! cod is getting close to being done for the main shaping. After I'm done with filling the small holes I'm going to put the dent in the front then paint!

Nice work on one of the more sensitive armoring areas. How did you make the dent? Heat source?

Thanks guys. For all the dents I used a heat gun and made the certain spot softer. I then took a towel and pressed on the back to keep the shape and used a round object to make the dents. Then ran the armor under cold water to cool it down fast.

Update. I've gotten a few more things and have quit a bit coming and in the works. I'm currently making boxes for a functional ammo belt. The vest is coming along and should be done this week. Gauntlets will be on their way soon and I'll be messing with those. So here is what I have so far.

I just picked up an airbrush and am ordering all the right colors for my helmet. hopefully I'll be able to start on that soon. Still waiting on the wife to finish the vest. having a little bit of issues with that.

That is really looking great. Where can i find a template for the vest?

The vest is from an actual cheerleaders vest pattern. I forget which one but I dont think there can be that many.

That flightsuit looks like it could use a bit of AB weathering.

I'm not sure what kind of helmet it is actually. And yea I really need to do alot of weathering on all my stuff. Jim came over the other night to take a look at it and show me his suit and it gave me alot of ideas on weathering and putting everything together.

So I repainted the main green color cause the first time it was too dark. Heres what it looks like now.

one last one. the spray can shot out thicker drops and it hit my collar so I need to figure out how to fix that.

Hmm... whats the red stuff you're using for filling the cod? I see a tube nearby but I can't make out what it is. I've only ever used bondo for filling and mixing and applying is always a pain for me.

it's bondo spot filler. small tube and is great for small stuff.

Tired of updating the first post haha. New test fit. Forgot my neck seal at a friends and I forgot to put on my knees and shin tools. Got too excited that I received my gloves today.

I know I post too many of these. Every time I get something new I want to put it on with my whole suit! haha. Added my braids, flightsuit pockets, blaster almost complete and I got my knees and shin tools on also. But I was in a hurry in my excitement and put the shoulder bells on the wrong sides :(

dude, very nice work man!! one thing i will add, is that the right shoulder could be a little more orangish and getting some more grime and grundge on the flightsuit, but other than that, looks great! i cant wait to suit up fully! congrats my friend!

So my wife finished my vest and neckseal a few weeks back and I finally got to weathering all the soft parts today. he's what it looks like all together. I need to add some darker tones in some spots but for the most part I'm pretty stoked on it.

So I tried on my BFUK jet pack for the first time. I've only painted the main colors and haven't weathered it yet. This was also my first time putting my flightsuit on since I dyed it. The thigh pockets didn't dye that good so I'm going to have to figure out what to do to fix them. I'm waiting on my boots from Evo and I should be pretty close to done. I need to attach my sidearm and then also weather my flightsuit again. Let me know what you think.

So I've got my new flightsuit from Carole. really solid flightsuit. I've repainted my armor and I've only got a few small things to finish on my suit :)
