The Workshop's ROTJ SE Kids Helmet Paint up

sleepalot

Active Hunter
This is one of Cruzer's very nice kid sized helmets he offers, I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to paint it for his daughter. I started on this helmet about a week ago and this helmet is going to be painted as the ROTJ Special Edition helmet for the upcoming event right around the corner, C7.
Everything is hand painted and I think the colors came out pretty accurate so far. I thought it was going to take months to get it right but yeah....

I just need to add a little bit of weathering over the dome and cheeks. The green for the dome and cheeks are not too light and the mandibles are nice deep red. I added a borden connector to make it more Boba than Jango. But to sum it up this helmet is a blast to work on, along with his gauntlets. I'll be updating this thread up until shipping day so stay tuned :) And if anyone is interested in the colors used, feel free to ask.

Looks great brutha. Is that Coldcast under there as the silver
It is a CC helmet, but I was dumb enough to paint the base colors over it before I wised-up and sent it to Sleepalot for a real paint up.

Thanks Hunter, the silver is all painted with a brush. I'd like to try out a cc version sometime.
That looks amazing buddy!!! 100x better than anything I could have done. My son's helmet will give you the opportunity to work with a CC surface if you don't get one before then.

What color did you use on the dome and cheeks? Is that Humbrol 78? It looks really good!

I believe it's the same colors AFettFullofDollars uses for the base coats. Thanks to Cruzer who did the base coats and he can confirm what colors are used for sure.

But AFFo$ thread is here for those interested > http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f23/affo-s-paint-list-airbrush-challenged-11819/

The Green for the dome and cheeks is good ole Rustoleum Spruce Green.:) Then just darkend with an airbrush with some mists of flat black and gray near the end until you get it to your liking.
The red is Rustoleum Satin Cabernet. Best part is there's no mixing involved.

Here is it before weathering and a size comparison to the MR Proto.

I hope this helps (y)

Yep, AFFo$'s recommended colors for the bases [emoji106]...but I did noticed you fixed the RF ear color. I still can't find that color locally, so thank you!
