WIP - Custom bucket

I've been on a hiatus from saber building lately, and this weekend I decided to pull my stack of WOF templates out of the folder and try my hand at working up a new bucket. Two very large blisters on my fingers later, and I have the beginnings of something.

I found a used skate helmet at the local Goodwill store and it's circumference was suitable for the templates, so I went with it, knowing full well the dome would not be accurate. Fine by me - I'll build a custom Mando helmet (sticks out tongue).

I'm using 2mm styrene for the build, since I regularly build models and am familiar with how styrene behaves...and I have LOTS of cements for styrene. So far, the project is pleasing to my eye. Thought I'd share.

Since the last pictures were taken, I got the cheeks installed. While I have read some threads complaining about fitting them to a helmet, I found them to be quite easy. I followed the WOF templates, made my shallow relief cut, and fit the pieces in, even the flat part of the cheek went in with no problem.

Still quite a bit of fine tuning to do before I am ready to 'glass the inside of the helmet. I don't need much, but think it'd be a good idea to help reinforce what's already here. Also might want to re-read the tutorial about the 12" craft ring and utilize that if need be.

I think its a good looking build so far! I think that the dome is not THAT far off.

Just remember to fill in the holes on top BEFORE you attatch it to the rest of the helmet. It will be easier to reach those spots.

dont be to worried people are shy, using a stakeboard helmet i see my helmet is still covered in dap spackle, keep it up bro
