Will Bondo save this?

I tried to just roll with it, but in the end I realized the templates didn't turn out quite right. I was wondering if I should scrap this dome or if bondo will save it? A nice thick layer... time consuming and elbow grease. I'd rather not have to take that off and redo it due to lack of materials, but if someone tells me it would look a whole lot ot better, I will.

you need to reinforce from the under side..then sand down a bit...thin layer of bondo, sand, repeat till you get a smooth surface from your peeks and valleys..

trim the overlapping tips, if they arent glued yet, try to glue them as smooth as possible.
I cut 45 degree angles on some of my triangle sides to let them fit better.

Yes Bondo can fix this BUT, the more you do NOW to fix it the easier it is to fix it with Bondo later.
when you have done what you can with the base, cover the gaps in the dome with duct tape or something from the outside.
then resin (and fiberglass if you want) the inside, give it a good solid coat. let cure SOLID!
then on to what Wildabeast said... scrape on the bondo in very thin layers. so thin that not everything will be covered in Bondo.
let cure, sand, wipe clean, scrape on another thin layer of bondo, cure, sand , clean .... repeat until a smooth uniform surface appears.

One of my Buckets took 4 days of adding layers and hand sanding to get smooth.
The other had an almost perfect dome to begin with and only took a day.
if you have a power sander it will go faster but don't expect to get it done in an hour or maybe even a weekend.

If you can whip up a better dome it might be worth a shot.

The dome isn't that bad in the center, what you see is mostly pieces cut short and put underneath another. I am going to bondo it up slowly. I just fiber glassed the inside. I have cut out and smoothed a few places but this new material I am using isn't like the cardboard I've used in my past. It's like ply-cardboad. Has a layer on the outside of some paper stuff... it's strange. Thanks for the opinions. If it's possible, I will do it.
