What visor for a kid's helmet?

I'm working on helmets for both my sons and am curious what everyone else is using for visors in their kid's helmets. My main concern is safety with the kids trick or treating. I don't want a clear lens if I can help it but thought there might be one out there with less tint.

There is a lighter green safety shield that is lighter and easier to see thru than the shade 5. I don't have one with me but if you go to Grainger or any industrial supply company you can see the varying shades of the visors.

Does the "5" indicate how dark the lense is? I see shade 3's in green and black. I assume the 3's won't be as dark a tint as the 5's?
