Voice changer

Active Hunter
I purchased one of the radio shack voice amplifiers and on review of some of the old discussions am planning on placing the speakers in the helmet. Dont want to talk out of my butt as some of the locations didnt work well for people. Any one found the best place to locate them without getting a large amount of feed back or making the helmet uncomfortable to wear? Pictures if available would be great.

Thanks up front for any help.

Vern

The closer the mic is to the speaker, the worse the feedback. You need to separate the two, or turn down the volume accordingly. Using a directional mic will also help. I would suggest having the speaker outside the helmet, or feedback may always be a future problem.

And then there is Vortex, which includes a trainable feedback canceler and Fett voice changer in one unit. :)

Ill certainly back up Hyperdyne, its the best out there.

I have a voice amp that I hide in my right belt pouch. Not the leather ones, just the cloth one hung from the belt. When it's loud it's not so obvious where it's coming from.

I don't use it though because first I don't sound like Fett, second I can never think of anything clever to say, third Fett doesn't talk much anyway. And lastly, I talk loud enough anyway...

Ive heard of people putting the speaker in the neckseal. Or possibly if the speaker wasnt too think it could be placed underneath a piece of chest armor

DW, I doubt you will find something better! Hundreds of hours were spent perfecting the unit. If you want to sound just like Fett in real time, get rid of feedback, and add Fett sound effects, I dont think there is an easier way to do it... At least nobody else has figured it out.

Another tip. If you put the speaker inside your armor, try to expose the speaker to free air. That way it wont resonate inside your armor, which will cause more feedback.

Hey guys I have a Vortex and it rocks. I use it for Vader and a Stormtrooper. Nothing else compares. Hyperdyne..will you be making a Jango chip? Seems like you could use a trooper chip without the radio click. Just wondering.

voix,

Thanks for the compliments.

I actually have a Fett chip for Vortex that you can buy! It has the Fett like raspy voice effect, and includes the ambient ranging sound (it is seamlessly looped) and a couple other cool sounds to choose from!

I've heard your Fett chip and it sounds great!! Although Boba and Jango sound quite different. Don't you think?

Yeah, I guess they do sound different. I will have to go back and study the effect again. But, it would be easy enough to make a Jango chip! Just let me know what you need and I can probably get one done for you.

REALLY!! Cool. I'll let you know when my costume is done. You know what...forget the costume. You make the chip and I'll buy it. If it's anything like your others it will be well worth the $50.

Thanks

P.S. What "extras" (ie sfx) are on your Fett chip? Blaster etc?

voix, I have 2 fett blaster sounds and the fett ambient ranging sound from ESB on the fett chip. Now, I can put any sounds you want on the chip, so if you have something in mind, just let me know! I can do a looping sound if you like, along with a couple blaster sounds.

mirax, I have sold several Boushh voice chips for females. That particular version lowers your voice enough so it sounds like a male (sort of like the effect heard in the movie "True Lies"). With the boushh voice effect added, it sounds quite decent. Now, I cant make you sound like a normal male (or exactly like Jango), but I can lower the pitch in your voice enough (and add in an effect) so it isnt obvious you are female. Hope that makes sense.
