Voice Amp?

What about putting the amp circiutyr, batteries, and speaker all in the chest (or speaker in the chest, and the rest in a pouch) ... but have a mic with detachable plug routed up into the helmet? Run the mic cable under the neck seal, and no one would even see it.

Actually most 9V batts are only 150mAh, while AAs are 1500mAh. If I did the math correct, that is a 10x difference!

I think the stated 1/3 number may be on the low side...

Do you have any photos of this?

I took mine apart, replaced the battery connection to run off a 9V battery, and i stuck all the guts in the helmet. I extended the wires for the speaker itself and used a small plug so I could disconnect it easily. The speaker will either go under my chest/ab armour, or possibly in my neck seal.

Here it is minus the 9V battery connector.

I'll have pics of it in my helmet soon.

Not anymore, I scrapped the idea, found it far to impractical. Much easiser to wear the mic the way it comes, on your head. I put the speaker and batteries/curciot board in the side pouches.

several guys in our garrison have the amp that Slave1pilot posted about and it seemd to work great. Our biker scout that has it puts the amp in his pouches. The stormie who uses it took it apart and mounted the speaker and amp circuits to the inside of his chest plate.
