VillainWorks MS1 for RKD

Major

Active Hunter
The next round of buckets has begun. Because it's me, I'll be working on 3 close together. RKD has asked me to restore and repaint his ESB helmet. After the inital paint stripping, it was time to make a minor modification to the dent, had the ROTJ chip in it. I then added all the ESB physical damage this time as well.

I don't have a lot of pics of it yet, but there will be more coming soon.

Will's is on the far right.

More to come......

The most awesome thing in this pic is that you still have a working tube TV.................

Can't wait to see the work on the helmets.

What method and or products did you use to strip the helmet? I'm looking at repainting mine in the future and am still looking for the best way to strip my bucket. It's currently painted with spray paints in the layered method. Any insight would help. Thanks.

Thanks Eric...... I did another one along side the Elstree last time, just didn't post anything. Might be crazy for the 3, we'll see.

As far as stripping, it's literally professional strength goof-off and a lot of towels. At the end, I'll very lightly sand it, but I tread carefully to not take away details.

Hope that helps....

I was so impressed with the elstree, as you know, that I'm really looking forward to this. I'd be really grateful if you could give us a real blow by blow on this and disclose some of those colour mixes if that's something you're happy to discuss in open forum. I saw some nice Ponte colour mixes not so long ago but yours I preferred and made a real difference to the whole effect. Best I've seen in a long time. We'd all like to know what you did there.

Not a lot of progress. Cold weather has been slowing me down, along with a nasty bug.....

Anyways, the blue-grey is down, and now the silver on the back panels.....

All the main colors on the back panels are down.....

Detailing/weathering to come later..... now onto the cheek bulge, then laying colors on the cheeks/dome

All the main dome/lower cheek work done........

That's Will's on the far right......

Next up, upper cheeks, then the mandibles.
