    Ty Solo's First Boba-Lid

Hi everyone! This is my first ever post on TDH. I decided to make my own bucket when i saw the amazing builds by antman and honus. They really do a great job with cardboard. But before i built a cardboard bucket, i decided to make a ****** practice one out of cheap poster board.
    here's how it looks:

    Another:

    And the last one:

I'm gonna go start on the real deal now! Wish me luck!

Well it looks like you got the basics, now get some 2-3mm plastic and make this baby come to life

    Hi TS,

Now this is smart thinking IMO. Really!
First do sort of a prototype so you get the hang of the process. This way you can learn what works and what doesn't. Great idea dude!

Keep up the good work and let's see them "for real" pics!

Thanks Antman! i'm glad you think it was smart to make a practice one first. And, BTW, it definitely helps out!!! P.S. It is much easier to make a cardboard dome then a ****** poster-board one. Thanks again!

That's funny, Saint N! I was gonna say it reminds me of a bloomin' onion from Outback steakhouse.
Nice work so far, Tyler. I know I'd never have the patience to scratch my own bucket.

i have seen other people on TDH use sintra to make domes and this is probably the easiest way. I'm just not sure about cutting the surface to bend it brcause you might break the sintra when you bend it. Use a heat gun or be very careful!

once you have the dome puttied and smooth you can then vac some heated sintra over the dome.

    Hey guys!
I have been pretty busy with stuff lately, but have found the time to watch the Star Wars marathon on Spike TV, carve the keyslot piece out of 3 mm polystyrene, and start work on the ear pieces. My new pictures are basically about these things and i will have more soon! Thanks, Ty Solo

Hey Frerr Shj'Edoc! Welcome to my thread and thanks for the comments! i went to a local hobby lobby and bought 2mm thick cardboard. It was in a big case with all kinds of picture framing paper and there were two different kinds. I bought both, but found that the hgarder, more rigid one was too difficult to maneuver. I recommend buying the softer type. Good luck and feel free to ask more questions! Keep you posted, I will.

    Re: Ty Solo's First Boba-Lid

    Hello TDH!
I have found some time to post a few new pics. They are of my finished keyslot piece, and of my puttying of the dome.
    dscf1101.jpg
    dscf1102.jpg
As i was cutting the pieces out for various parts, my fingers started to ache, so took the gel pad off of an old pen and put it on my exacto:
    dscf1098.jpg
I will be working on mounting the keyslot and sanding the dome some more, plus i am working on filling in the mandibles right now, so keep checking for more updates.
