Trying to start my first build and want to buy a kit.

I want to buy a kit but am on a budget. I have seen many builds with the FP kit but have no idea how to get one or what I should expect to pay. My other question is what is better resin or fiberglass? Any guidance helps I have built a few buckets from cardboard but have a little $ to buy my lid now. Thanks.

I can vouch for animefan. I'm working in one of his buckets right now and it's extremely accurate and very well made. He makes a killer helmet for the price.

Another happy Animefan customer here. He makes a really nice kit.

As far as resin vs fiberglass, I've worked on several helmets made from each material,
and cosmetically, there's no difference. The fiberglass may be a bit stronger structurally, but
the trade off is some added weight. Resin lids are nice and light, and it's not like they're
flimsy or anything.

We'll my wife bought me a bucket off eBay while I was making the rest of pieces and sad to say the pour was terrible :( and know I don't have cash to buy a new one. Is it normal to have to do a ton on work inside them just to get them to fit? Mine is very gloppy inside and was not very nicely made. The sides inside are uneven and it looks like the resin was flopped in.

Pictures would help with diagnosis. There usually isn't a ton of work to do on the inside, now the outside of a sloppy cast is a different story. I have had to do some clean up on the insides of helmets but never too much.

While it nice that she tried to get you a helmet, all I can say is for the rest of your build stay away from eBay unless the seller is man of war studios. He is a member here and makes great parts.

I agree. Pics would help and as for ebay it's absolutely terrible. Many of the helmets are recasts and therefore have cruddy quality. From the sound of it, it seems you'll be doing more work than most due to that sellers bad resin job :/

I'm VERY new to this and wanted my first helmet. Is themandalorianarsenal.com a reliable place to buy a kit? I'm looking for cheap and durable. I don't expect it to take a beating, but I don't want it to break if I happened to drop it. They have a sale going on for $125. Worth it? Thanks for the help.

I haven't heard of that site before, so I can't speak for their parts. The helmet looks more night watch than boba fett, so if you are looking to do a fett, those helmets may not be what you will need. I recommend contacting animefan or Asok. They make great lids at a great price, you won't be disappointed.

Looking for Fett or DW. I've heard nothing but good things about animefan's helmets and that is what I'd get if that site turns out to be sketchy, but the site's deal includes visor, RF and ear caps w the helmet for $125 right now. It just seems like a great deal if quality.

If you wNt fett Animefan is fantastic! I can tell you first hand send the little extra you get your money's worth in this hobby low price equals low quality every time.

I too am in the market for a helmet kit and anime fans has been recommended to me in other threads too , so it looks like you got the job buddy :-)
