its coming together nicely man! Great photos too, this will help me when i finish my scratchbuilt helmet and decide to mold and cast it. Awesome job

IT WORKED, IT WORKED (y) (y) (y)

i have not uploaded the pics yet but i now have a perfect silicone mould of my scratch built bucket, and the male cast came out whole as well (will keep it just for sentimental value).

the silicone mould is lovely and has picked out every single detail, i am happy :)

will post pics ASAP

Awesome job, dude!! Those pics really help out with putting in the keys to line up the mold. How did you do the other half? I know that putting on the second half of the plaster jacket would create the holes for the pegs to lock into, but did you have to coat the separation line with something so the new plaster wouldn't stick to the existing plaster half? Hope that makes sense. :p

The mould looks absolutely great!!! I do have to ask if you would be willing to make me a copy if you get the fiberglass to work? You've seen my bucket ala carte... I really need a decent one to work on.

i don't see it being a problem. I have a few ppl on order already (mostly friends and family etc) but yer no problem. Let me pull a couple out first to see what happens and if they are any good then i will do you one. I am looking for about £50 ($85) for a raw cast (about the same cost as a Rubies, although hopefully 500% better). This will be just to cover the cost of the fibreglass etc and the time spent in the shed away from the wife

anyways give me a few weeks and i will see what i can do. PS without be unkind i wouldn't spend to much time on the Ala Carte bucket, i think you are on a lost cause there :( (sorry mate).

Thanks! I'll be looking forward for it! The price does seem reasonable, if even a little cheap for a bucket of that accuracy. And yeah, it is a lost cause on the ala carte... But, I need a base to try the paints that are available around here... Afterwards, it will be going to someone else..
