ThirdEthree Pre Pro 3(PP3) paint up

Hey Guys!
I wanted to share the latest paint up that I just finished. This was my second layered/airbrushed paint job, and I have been working on this over the course of the last two weeks. I felt like I wanted to attempt a paint scheme that seems fairly neglected...The PRE PRO 3(PP3).
Precursor to the ESB Hero that we all know and love, you can see the direct lineage from one to the other. Often mistaken, yet different in so many ways, I found that I love this paint scheme version. Its gritty, well worn, and battle damaged. Just as complex as the ESB but seemingly less refined.
So after doing some research and checking out all of the amazing PP3 photos in TDH gallery from the Master Replicas photo shoot (Art's photos?), I decided to take the longer road and try to channel my best Jayvee and Superjedi to apply, scratch, knick, gouge, and stain my way to a complete PP3.
Armed again with a Cold Cast lid from Asok, killer stencils from Raf, and enough Humbrol, Model Masters and Floquil to spray myself to death, I was able to produce this paint up. All the while constantly eyeing reference photos to the point of driving myself crazy. let me know what you guys think and please, once again, if anyone has any suggestions I would love them.
Here it is...

Ooooh. . . sexy. :) I love some Pre-pro action.

Masterful work! I like to think of the PP3 as the ESB's less popular fraternal twin.
They're definitely meant to look alike. But the differences, as you point out, are subtle indeed.
You did an excellent job capturing the overall grunginess of this version.

Just one question regarding the gray on the dome. There seems to be a very thin outline
around the gray areas. Is that a lighting artifact? I hesitate to even bring it up, as it is very minor.

What an excellent lid - you are on an absolute roll brother, your paint work is exceptional! Rrally dig the PP3, and is definately overlooked for the far more popular ESB, but your version, and the execution is completely first class my friend! Incredible stuff once again!

E - pretty sure the white outlines would just be from the white carbon paper, but the white outline elves have been known to sneak in nightly, to cause havok on unsuspecting fett lids - true story.. ;-)

The white is definitely from the stencils. I'll wait about a week or two and go in with a slightly damp cloth to eliminate fresh paint damage. I just got excited and wanted to post it.

Yeah, I probably should have waited to post it but I also wanted opinions on it so if anything needed to be done I was still in paint mode. SJ, I totally used your PP3 thread to keep me on track. Amazing to see that all done topically.
Seems like we will all need to try and keep up with Jayvee. He's killing that RotJ.
Thanks for the compliments guys!!

That Pre-Pro #3 paint job is a killer! All the colors are spot on... except that dark gray seems a bit too light and somehow washes out the rest of the colors; and you might add those subtle black scratches on the ears (you said that the helmet isn't finished yet, so there's room for some touch ups). If you manage to tone down that color, the whole helmet will be perfect! Don't take this as a harsh criticism, because it isn't, I just want to be honest with you, this is why I pointed out those little 'imperfections'. Keep up your already awesome job!

...So, here comes the new generation of awesome painters!

Raf- Thanks for checking this out! I agree that the photos taken outside(as well as stencil lines) washed out the dark gray. The gray that was used is Floquil Reefer Gray enamel. would you still suggest to go darker? SP Lark Dark gray? and which black ear scratches were you referring to? seems like the only black scratches on the right ear were at the bottom on the angled tab, and on the left were the circular pencil marks that look like they were reference marks for the ear arch placement. let me know your thoughts!!

Im looking at this and seeing the kill stripes as being very yellow like the front ESB stripes, looking at the PP3 helmet theyre a yellow orange to me. Not sure if its lighting related or not but something to look at....looks really good though. Very nice.

These are the black scratches on the ears:

The dark gray seems almost OK on the red areas, but on the dome and the cheeks it looks lighter in comparison with the base green color and in some areas it's almost invisible (due to the light too). And is possible that when you will erase the white outlines, the gray areas to 'became' less accentuated. On your other thread (with the ESB-Holiday Special paint up) the gray looks 'better', but I might be wrong because of the other colors; is the same gray?

Raf- you're right, I put the black scratches on the lower ear tab, just not on the upper area. Small oversight. I'll add those today. The gray is exactly the same. It plays better off of the blue because Reefer gray definitely has a green base to it. You can see it well whenever you steel wool or scotchbrite it. Not much contrast to the panzer olive.
F4R- Thanks for the compliments! As I've read other threads, I can see you have a keen and honest eye. The yellow seems brighter once again, due to outside photos, but I also didn't tone it down much. Could be bright too because its fresh.
