TF2 ESB Paint Job for Captain Awesome=FINISHED!

Thanks!

Approaching the final stages of this paint up. I have added the white thumb print, giving it some thicker paint to achieve a little more relief. Also added the light coloured strip below the kill stripes and a dirty brown wash around the top of the trim and forehead arrows/ key slots and ear platforms. Some of the hairline scratches now have darker marks through them. A few more scratches and scuffs to add then onto the splatters. Final stage will be shading with the airbrush when hopefully the dent will really pop! Also have the stalk and RF top to paint as well as the key slots circuits to fit, these will be done last...

The Mona Lisa of Starwars prop replicas!
Sounds corny but I recon its close to the truth for me at least .
The best paintings of the world have you looking for hours, with your eyes getting lost in all the detail.
Well this baby has the same effect on me. Can't imagine how amazing it would be in the flesh ( fibreglass )
The force is with you TF.

Here's the final helmet painted and sealed ( just need to add RF and stalk and key slot circuit ). Interesting to note that on this paint job i've used the same grey on all sections where as previously i used a darker grey on the dome and cheeks and a lighter grey on the mandibles and trim and back panels. I have slightly adjusted the maroon colour to cope with this and the effect is the same as using two slightly different tones of grey. This is most noticeable around the dent where the powder burn darkens grey and green so the masked grey and green colours on the very edge of the lower side of the dent actually appear a shade lighter than the surrounding dome colours. I went slightly heavier than usual with the weathering/ shading and these natural light photos still make it look less weathered...

Don't get it too close to the real thing... You won't know which is which.

Pure genius.

Bam! And just like that, Grandmaster G delivers once again! Seriously mate - I think with nailing down the grey, tweaking your back panel colours, and adding in the oodles of fine detail, it just doesn't get much better than this. Simply jaw dropping (y))

tdh certainly gives the platform that sets the bar for all of us thankfully, I hope to get better by pouring over amazing paint ups like this.

Finally finished! Added the circuit to the key slots and one of JC27's most excellent light kits working off of a honeywell switch. The stalk has had multiple layers added, matt varnished then chipped. This process was repeated until the right look was achieved. Next onto the SE jet pack....

TF, those new back panel colors are STUNNING. I'd be curious to test those out in person.

Oh, and god have mercy upon you with the SE jetpack...that hunk of large areas and ledges will give you a headache. :D

I can't even cope !....I cannot begin to understand how you guys do this kind of thing ? I don't even know what "liquid mask" is ??...This is beyond incredible !
I give up and I haven't even started....I'm just gonna buy a Rubies costume and be a sad little Fett instead.
AMAZING !
