Terminal Fettler (and FP) light kit

Just read your PM!

Wow! It looks great! Can you do the same video without the surrounding lights, in total darkness? Or at least in semi-darkness? It would help to see how bright are the lights in those conditions. But so far so good!

I was using my iPhone for the vid, and it has issues with low light environments. Also that battery was an old one I found, about 7.8v so the GOWs will be a tad brighter with a new battery. I will try to take another vid tonight after work.

Thanks G for hooking me up with a kit. When I start making them I will cut you a deal on one.

Raf, here is a video of the kit in low light.

Exactly this is what I wanted to see! The correct intensity (the lowest possible) of the GoW bulb should be like this:

Here is my experiment with some GoW light bulbs ==> Exploring the inside of the Rangefinder (possible found part alert!) - Post #60, The best result is with 3V, but it's the incorrect bulb...

I could probably use a 3v battery but the GOW bulbs draw a lot of current and the battery would be dead in a matter of minutes.

You might add a specific resistor (I'm no expert on this) to reduce the voltage to the GoW bulbs, so you won't go blind when the rangefinder is in the down position.

I forgot that 3v the GOW bulbs won't even light, they are actually rated for 12v, so a 3v won't work. Even with the 9v, the GOW aren't that bright. The led on my Asok kit is way brighter than the GOW bulbs.

I know it's more accurate, and I'm sure it will be awesome.

For some reason I had it in my head that it would be internal to the board.

The kit, when its ready, will include the board with the GOW bulbs already attached, wire, the micro switch, 9v battery holder, solder less connectors, and a set of instructions.
I am almost ready to start the sale thread. Once I get the hollow stalk from FP, I can build the mock up and write the instructions.

Where can I get ahold of a hollow stalk? I am on the list for a GMH, and I would love to get a hollow stalk, and a light kit so I am ready for when the helmet comes in!
