for those ppl having a hard time looking for a secure method to instal a visor / lens.

Quote from Spideyfett himself..

"Basically the Bolt is like an anchor...you have to insure that the screw is a tad shorter, so when you put the screw in it basically forces the Bolt to press up againt the Visor, which in turn makes the visor flush to the mandibles...
I hope that made sense??"

AWESOME DIAGRAM!! ...Glad I could help. :)

*Remember to make your Visor Template BEFORE you install your TEE-NUTS. ;)

Spideyfett, awesome pic tutorial! Exactly what I was looking for.
Sixxgunn13, thanks for the illustration! Perfectly clear.

Great idea, guys! Especially if you need to change out the visor at some point.

Also, "Chicago Screws" can be found at a lot of stationery, photo supply and craft stores. They're usually aluminum, but I found a few places that also sell plastic versions. If you can find the ones that are designed for book page binding or photo albums, they're already flattened at the post end.

Here are some links for reference. Good drawings here.

Hope this helps!

This is how I have my visor installed and can't imagine having it any other way. I love it!

The only problem I ever had was finding glue strong enough to hold the screws in. The first time around the tension of the visor pulled the screws off.

What glue did you end up using? I plan to use JB Weld...which has held everything I've glued it too, including stuff that takes a lot of stress.

I'm not entirely sure. I can't remember and it doesn't have any markings on it. It's a two part epoxy that comes in an all black double barreled syringe thing.

I think another element to this method is to ensure that the Visor DOESN'T apply any stress to the TeeNut/ or mandibles....
You don't want your Visor, once installed, to be the piece that holds your mandibles in place...causes way too much stress that way.

**That's why it is imperative that you make a Visor template prior to installing the TeeNut's or making holes in your visor.(y)

]I just took a heat gun and heated the visor to the point where it fitted better in the helmet. Took 60 seconded epoxy to the points where the visor and helmet made contact and then used black silicone caulking to fill in the gaps on the inside.

Reason I did this is because im afraid to apply stress to the mandibles.
