t visor question

So my helmet is all painted up but I was wondering how the t visor sits inside? Is it supposed to be flush with the inside or have a little space? I ask because the visor I got, doesn't quite fit snuggly like I would have hoped. So I'm debating if I should just cut it to shape better or if it's okay if it sits a little back.

How far back, do you have any pictures? Gaps are to be expected, I've read.
