Sweaty Fetty
This is a bit of a grim question but I'd like to know how other people handle this problem.
I've just completed my third troop with my Fett and really love it. Though I've found it's a very hot costume, being a little unfit I'm sweating buckets. I bought a balaclava to try and absorb it to no avail. The sweat drips straight out of my helm and onto to chest armour.
I've a BM helmet, and there is little enough space for my big head, let alone a set of fans. I use washing liquid on the visor, so I've managed to stop the misting up problem.
Personally I really want to get one of the chin skirts, but I've an ESB Fett and I've been told it isn't 501st clearable.

Does anyone have any suggestions based on their experiences?
Cheers,
Phil

Re: Sweaty Fetty
Since I'm still a couple of months out from completing it, I haven't yet trooped in my Fett but I think I would melt without the fans I use in my Tie Pilot helmet. I switched from Vader to Tie in the first place after only a couple of outings mostly because of the heat problem (you wanna hot costume - go with Vader! - nothing like a layer of leather covered with two layers of wool and a fully enclosed helmet to get that sweat pouring! Even fans don't help much in that one...).
In short, I've got so solutions, but I'm interested in hearing some, so BUMP!

Re: Sweaty Fetty
if the sweat is beading on your forehead then running down your face and dripping on to your armor, i would suggest a headband of some kind. i use an under armor band and haven't had much of a problem unless i'm trooping on really hot days.

I used one of those under armor hot weather skull caps and it really helped.
I had a helmet skirt gasket thing at the bottom of my Jango helmet but it just makes things even hotter! No air circulation.

Re: Sweaty Fetty
Look at some of these. I use them under my cycling helmet.
COOLMAX® Shorty - Headsweats
There is a strip of rubber around the front of the skull that directs the sweat around the head and to the back. I have used the headband type and the skull cap type with success. When cycling the sweat dripping across your sunglasses is a huge problem. This product worked for me, don't see why it wouldn't work under a Fett helmet.
And you can probably find it cheaper........I just linked to the company page.

Re: Sweaty Fetty
I'd suggest checking out those coolmax headbands. I have a few friends who use those headbands when cycling as well and I've used it when playing airsoft and I love it. It's a really nifty design and idea.
Plenty of costumers use the underarmor headbands or skullcaps. Underarmor also makes a great balaclava but I've never trooper with mine.

Re: Sweaty Fetty
Another thing you can do if you're handy with a sewing machine (or know someone who is) is to cut some holes in your coveralls and put some sport cloth/moisture wicking material in there for some extra ventilation. While I don't have a Fett, I do have a biker scout and I've got a couple of panels that go the full length of my chest under my cummerbund/flak vest piece. I'm currently working on another undersuit and it'll have 3 panels (2 front, 1 back) to help with the air circulation.
I also use an Under Armour Heat Gear hood which makes a big difference.
